Removing rear light clusters?

Featured Replies

im picking my roomster up Monday and I intend on starting tweaks from day 1 so my question is how do I remove the rear light clusters? is it similar to a fabia 2?

Mine's an "08" but I wouldn't think they would have changed. Two screw's and pull it out, shimples.  :sun:

^^^^^ This. x2 T20(i think) torx screws and out they come.

Disconnect wiring loom and then there are some more torx screws to access some of the bulbs, whereas others are twist lock.

If it comes with a spare wheel and toolkit in the foam centre thingy (mine's a 57 plate) there is a torx tool of the correct size lurking within, I now keep it in the folder with the handbook....worth looking for if it's got one! Shaped like an Allen key with one long and one short "limb".

Im exited about it now getting roof rails fitted for 212quid too from the dealer!!

only problem with getting access to the rear light clusters is the short cable into the body means it can be difficult to get your fingers in to disconnect it

my 07 roomster did seem to eat cheaper side light bulbs, but if I used "ring" brand bulbs or similar good brand bulbs they lasted a lot longer and didn't blacken

Mine as well. Though I always used branded ones, I would have to swap out at least 2 of my rear running light bulbs about every 6 months for the first couple of years. Been over a year now and nothing has blown, perhaps some residual moisture in there previously.

Only ever changed the indicator bulbs in the rear, and that was just for better ones. (Did I just say that out loud ). :x
