5 year warranty

Featured Replies

I bought the five year warranty and was told that it was the same as the three one (except paint and some bits). The info also confirms this as it does not state that it does or does not include the AA cover it just states as per the three year cover but extended to five years. Now I am be told that the AA cover is NOT included.

Does anyone know for sure what is the case?

The dealer told me it did not come with any AA/RAC cover when I purchased mine with the extended warranty... this is for 3 years only

Cnc,

Both of thoses tell you about the three year warranty but not unless I missed something (possible for me I know), they do not tell you about the extended five year warranty info that I have from 2012 which simply states that it extends the three year warranty.

Thankyou for your input guys.

My dealer told me that the 5 year warranty included Skoda Assistance for the same period but the plastic card I received recently confirming Skoda Assistance for my car is for 3 years only.

My point was the three year warranty is exactly that, a warranty only which does not include breakdown cover, which is a different service offered by Skoda. The 5 year warranty is just an extension of the 3 year warranty, not an extension of the breakdown cover.

I know it is a look/play on words but as you rightly say it is an extension of the three year warranty (which does include the recovery scheme). My paper work clearly states that it excludes the paints warranty for years 4 & 5 but not the AA cover which was what I was expecting to read when I re read it :peek:  and as you can see above some people like myself were told that it does include the AA cover even the salesman the other day thought that it did. Perhaps a poorly written extra two year warranty paper work, we will see.  :whew:  :giggle:

As I say the dealer (D.M.Keith in York) stressed at the time to me that the 4/5 year warranty did not include the recovery BEFORE I purchased the 5 year warranty.. I did not even ask..

Maybe it is a case that some dealers know there product better than others...

If you believe the overall warranty package has been miss-sold (i.e. you were told verbally that breakdown cover was included in the final two years) then it will be worth complaining.

You never know you might get a free service or similar instead as way of an apology.

I think that is how I am going to approach this while keeping it all as friendly as possible as I do have a very good relationship with the dealer as they have been quite exemplary in their dealings with me.

Well I have just spoken with the Skoda Newport and they have been very pragmatic about it , considering the wording or rather the lack of clear wording in the paper work. We have therefore come to an agreement which I am very happy with.
