Front badge peeling

Featured Replies

Anyone else's front bonnet badge peeling a little with the chrome coming off?

That's poor.

No, thankfully, off to the dealers I reckon and before you do, check for corrosion on your wheel Center caps.

Replaced de-laminating green badge logo for newer plastic chrome badges, (tailgate & front grille)

Attached photos and parts numbers.

Price on E-Bay £13.00 free postage 80mm badge, compared to a Skoda Dealer?

It's still under warranty, they should be replaced as such.

I had boot and bonnet badges replaced under warranty on my MKII Octy, though they refused to replace my delaminating wheel Centre caps due to one of my alloys being kerbed, "how do we know you didn't kerb them?"

The replacement badges are also now delaminating and I was looking at replacing them with the new style badges.

I think I'll wait a bit and see!

Just a thought - what do you clean the chrome with? I'm sure the dealer will probably try to avoid replacement if they think you have used a harsh cleaner.

Yep,both of my badges [front and back ] are delaminating. The rear one has moss inside it too.But then again its 9 years old nearly.,I've just re lacquered the front one to tart it up a bit,but at about 20 to 30 pounds a pop [each !! ] for new badges,I'm in no rush to replace them just yet.

This one is 6 weeks old :-/

I'll add it to the job when they look at my clickey passenger seat.

You haven't used a pressure washer on it, have you? If you haven't, that's very poor.

Yes I have used a Karcher on it as I snow foam my cars. Never had a problem with badges before.

I called the garage to day and were asking if I had stone chips!

They are ordering a badge in and will probably replace it.

Is it the metal chrome, or plastic chrome?

Plastic Chrome. The rear badge seems to be ok, so just must be a dodgy badge from the factory.
