  • Well we finally succumbed and ordered the FWD Solar Yellow/Black roof  Boosterjet as a friend has been pestering us for our ‘white goods’ auto Astra due to her deteriorating knee making the clutch pai

  • Well we finally have our ‘golden oldie’. It steers very well, has a brilliant auto and the display says 21.1km/litre - almost 60mpg. It feels positively old fashioned in that it’s lightness

Wow that sounds a little steep. Mind you, there are the usual reasonable discounts around and with the facelift coming soon (Looks better at the front and is rumoured to have better ground clearance) perhaps some strong deals on offer. When I looked at the S-Cross I also looked at the Qashqai 4x4 which wasn't a lot more (big discounts available), but had a better finish and a really large fuel tank :D

Discounts are a two edged sword for dealers as it both brings new customers in but at the expense of repeat ones who feel cheated and insulted as well with their lowball offer at trade time.

Out here at least Merc and BMW don't for fear of a backlash and destruction of resale values.

I gotta say it looks as if it's quite at home there. Wish we snow like that down here so I could experience the cars true potential ;)

Fancy £10K off a new BMW £335D? Better make sure you ask for it before buying of course :)

That was near Middleton in Teesdale. North Yorkshire/Co Durham border

And the response.....

"Tell 'im 'es dreamin'"

Out here that is.

It's been a very gradual trend out here for the list price of Mercs and BMWs to be stable and in the case of new sector models such as A B and even C class to be aimed at top-of-the-range Japanese Hondas and Toyotas, but the E Class up is still exy.

If you're into cars though Oz is almost as cheap as the U.S. now.........'c'mon down'......unless you prefer the cold, snow and floods, that is.

Vitara S vs Mazda CX-3 Auto Express review. Looks like the Vitara is doing quite well in the press.

Vitara S vs Mazda CX-3 Auto Express review. Looks like the Vitara is doing quite well in the press.

Read this review in Auto Express last week I think it was. Surprised that the Vitara came out on top but then again it never ceases to amaze me.

On a separate note my dad was so impressed with my Suzuki that he went and ordered a SX4 S-Cross 1.6 Ddis SZ-T last week. Picked it up yesterday and from what I've seen of it its a nice little run around for him. He needs some time to suss out some of the features but all in all I think he's pleased with it. We are now a 2 Suzuki car family.

I'm seeing plenty of Vitaras around now. Looks like they are selling well.

I'm interested in the 1.4S, and have been told by a number of dealerships that they have to 'share' a demonstrator between several garages due their popularity.

Announcement today on fuel testing issues, on Suzuki vehicles/ engines ??

... another ruddy link. Are you a Google Ai  Robot? Why not say what is the gist of the article and show that you bothered to read it in the first place?

Keith do me the courtesy of not posting links in a thread of my starting.

I see there has been a face lift for the S-Cross. Personally I don't like it, the car looks like it has the front end from an entirely different vehicle bolted on. Anyhoo I've read a couple of reviews and AutoExpress really like it and Autocar sort of go ..."meh!" :D Their tests use the new 1.0 Ecoboosterjetturboefficencyhypermileageteenyweeny engine. Check out the reviews if you feel so inclined

AutoExpress  :)

Autocar  :(

I suppose one interesting thing is the 1.0 engine may end up in the slightly smaller and lighter Vitara :)
