Another project on the go.

 

Recently acquired a VW Caddy, this is the 1.6tdi with the base 75hp engine.

 

It started with the usual black bumpers, steel 15" etc.

 

First off all the bumpers needed colour coding.

 

 

 

 

Then with the 1.6tdi only being  75hp with a dpf, a Stage 1 map was carried out with Shark software. DPF still in place for the time being.

 

 

 

Stock 75hp - stage 1 to 135hp!!

 

 

So then we tried a few sets of wheels. It was a choice in the end between TD pro race or G6R 18's (G6R 19's were tested aswell).

 

We have decided on G6R 18's for the time being, however huge arch gap.

 

 

We settled for ST suspensions adjustable kit front and rear

 

We also had a spare set of calipers kicking about.

 

So the chassis and braking dramatically improved from this

Awesome, decent power out of that engine! I rather fancy a newer caddy, would be really good for mountain biking.

Really envious of this, would love a caddy! You chaps haven't messed about getting cracking with the mods either! Lol

They are still only 5 speed unfortunately.

Do they feel like they are missing a 6th gear? Especially with the big increase in power?

With most of the late vag ranges have 6 speed, you always find yourself going for it.

I think it should have been fitted with the 6 speed especially when you get into long distance/cruising mode.

Only DPF removal. Which has significantly improved MPG as expected

I was actually quite surprised how poor MPG was for the 1.6tdi
