Featured Replies

just so I'm clear (I'm easily confused), faboka provided you with a service for which you did not pay but you did pay another company for a separate service, which makes what you got from faboka not free? of have I got the wrong end of the stick?

  • Yup and I'll still insist in logs for anything other then a brand new unit from garret or kkk. Seen so many "setup" turbo's that needed adjustment. This isn't disrespect to XMan, I can't fault his tur

  • Holy **** you never cease to amaze me how clueless you are!!!!!   You must be the receptionist at the MOT centre surely?

That's the same end of the stick I got :)

I understand it as john was contacted and offered his service but steve wasnt impressed by the idea of emailing logs, and prefered to take it somewhere with rolling road to do it there and then on the day.

So I think it was more a fact of questioning the data, time and emailing that john uses to create his maps rather than questioning johns ability.

Or thats how I read it at least, from personal experience I know john knows his stuff and spent lots of time on research.

Another happy customer here. I did not want a re-map and forget job. I've already had one of those! John regularly updates his maps based on customer feedback and from his own research and passion in tuning VAG diesels.

Id use faboka, i even messaged him about turning my eml light off and he offered to do it at a very reasonable price. I havent taken the offer yet as im skint but i will be going when ive got funds.

i would have turned that off for free if u was local. lol

nearly right! i did contact john for a 4 bar map sensor base log which im sure he got saved on his computer from previous customers ( 2 minute job) with the map for 4 bar map sensor in place i was under the belief i was going to visit him to finish the job off as he did state in a tx message ( which i'll dig out ) stating he would like to see my car, i know he dont have a rolling road as its his hobby as he has another job which he's told me, i wern't questioning his ability in any way just wanted to see the guy whos mapping my car face to face i've had over 10 cars mapped and only 1 have been mapped that wern't face to face and that was due to a bluefin handheld unit made by superchips

I was looking forward to seeing it too :(

But you couldn't be bothered to do what I asked in the benefit of yourself. So we're I was willing to do what it takes to get it done, hope you didn't think we were going to finish before the sun has gone to sleep. Turned into why should I after endless phone call and me having to repeat myself.

Like I say it's a shame as it looks a nice car and setup.

Oh and the 2 minutes job was a result of many endless nights researching and understanding what's required.

This is pretty pointless now or I'm bored one of the two. So I'll leave it there and unsubscribe. It's a shame a review has turned into this. :(

I'm sorry, but just cause it's saved on his computer doesn't mean you get it for free.

Microsoft and Apple and plenty of software that is just sat on a server, they don't just give it away cause of the time and money invested in creating it, same goes for John.

It's pity it doesn't work like that though, cause there's plenty of games and films I'd like for free but for some reason these companies expect to be paid for their work???!?!?!

There's always two sides to every story but it seems to me that this 'debate' is heavily biased one way.

If it was polling day then it's pretty clear who'd be elected!
