Octavia vrs 1.8t keeps blowing fuel pumps ?

Featured Replies

Hi, I'm after some advice my Octavia has been no bother at all until last week it blew a fuel pump (in tank) so I replaced (used part) started first turn of the key left it over night it wouldn't start again another pump had blew no fuses or relays are faulting any idea why it's doing this ? I originally thought wiring however it isn't blowing fuses ?

Also the pump is getting 2/3volts stage 2 ignition and stage 3 (cranking) pretty much 12 volts any help would be greatly appreciated I'm menting to be hitting nuringburg with it in a couple of weeks. :(

Both came out of running cars, literally parked the black vrs up pulled the pump out and put it onto the silver vrs, silver one ran, same thing come to it the next morning pumps not working

when the car doesn;t start ,lift the back seat and hit the floor near the pump and then try to start again

hit it with your fist quite good :)

Tried out of frustration lol, all the voltages read are the same as the working Octavia throughout the ignition cycle,

But it's blew 2 pumps in 2 days :s

Have you swapped over the whole unit or have you split the pump from the pot and switched just the internals?

Tried both Mankee first one just swapped pump and second whole sender unit

checked the relay?

What error codes are you getting?

  • Author

Yes checked the relay no error codes present

Relay gets stuck you sure it's not that

Very common

I never heard of that

No been swapped from a running car it's all been checked side by side with a working car and all values are the same so it's going to the auto electricians in a day or two as I'm going to nuringburg weekend after next HOPEFULLY lol

Have you tried your original pump in the other car.

Yes it doesn't work it's been to an auto electrician and been on test and he seems to think the relay could be at fault, I'm going to buy a new one but I think I'm wasting my time and money
