Headlight whine

Featured Replies

Here's a new one for ya, turned the lights on this evening without any music playing whilst the ignition was turned on but the engine still off and I could hear a whine coming from somewhere around the dashboard, turned off the second I flicked the lights off and only comes on when you have either the parking lights on or headlights on, I've included a video and you can just make out the whine, not really to fussed as the engine drowns it out a little and I usually have music playing

Video is private, mate :D

Just crank it full volume, you'll hear it :x

I was sitting in my other car only last night checking something out, it was in the garage. Switched on the ignition without starting the car and for the first time ever I noticed a whirring humming type noise, I guess it's normal for these modern cars. My Toledo makes all sorts of noises when switching on, and switching off.

The only noise it shouldn't make is a creaking noise on the door window rubber seal :notme:

Couldn't hear anything in that sound clip you posted, you may have farted though,  I could be mistaken :D

Try Gummi Pflegge on the seal maybe.

Not too sure but here are a couple of ideas...

do you have headlights that self adjust? Just because the motors make a whine noise.

Or is it just fuel rail or similar?

Manual adjust, I'm assuming it has a fuel rail, but will have to look to be sure, the engine is well and truly hidden under a giant filter box
