Which car & engine is it?

EDIT,

Yellow 62 plate vRS.

So the question will be, how many miles,

have the Spark Plugs been replaced yet,

ECU latest Update done,

& do you run it on 99 , 97 or 95 ron petrol.

Has the light gone out now?

Be sure not to drive it hard until 'All 4 Spark Plugs are Checked'.  Closely Inspected.

* And be sure you keep them. Do not let the garage throw them away.*

Not likely to have been changed at 1st or 2nd service or unless there was already an issue,

so likely Cylinder 3 Plug is on its way out.

All 3 will need replacing.

Please get a picture of them.  in the order they are in the engine.

Is it still under the Original Warranty,

and did you get any Warranty when you bought it.

Hopefully just the new Spark Plugs Required.

The Scheduled Change is at 40,000 miles, but that really is to long for a Twincharger.

Ah right my fault I thought as soon as the eml flashes/comes on then what caused it will be recorded.

Easy job to get the coil-packs out, Will, where are you located?  Sounds like you're having the same problem as myself.  I've taken it to Skoda dealership who then charged me £70 for a diagnostics which they told me what I told them before they did it.  Then got a phone call 2 weeks later saying that I need to send it back to them for a compression test for a nice £130+vat later, I told them to stick it.  I mentioned that when I dropped the hire car off to pick my car up, they mentioned a new engine but they said that I'd have to pay for that at a hefty £3000, I also told them where to go.   So im dealing with problem and trying to let it get to me.

If the light is on and you do not want to drive 20 miles call Skoda Assist and the Responder can Scan it, get codes if there are any,

and arrange the Transportation to a Dealer if required.

Get them to arrange a Courtesy car.

If you only had the Exhaust Emissions Control System Light on and now off ( Engine Light), just drive easy,

do not use Surper & Turbo,

Not 15 mins that Skoda charges i.e. they have more as the time needed to do them in their price list or it literary takes more than 15 mins?

Undo one screw for the plastic hoses holder clip, undo another screw for another hose holder, pull all four coil packs with the correct tool, undo plugs with thin walled magnetic plug socket, put new ones in and do the initial steps in reverse. If you'd done it before it takes 15 mins. First time around an hour perhaps :)

Collect car from the front, and the worksheet. take it to the workshop.

Open bonnet, remove plugs, go collect plugs, do the change, put the car on VAS (some do), Some do it before starting.

Road Test the car, some do.

Return car to the Front, keys to desk.

Somebody has to pay for Technicians time other than just the time they are under the bonnet.

but,

when the car is already in for a Service & you are paying for more labour than it actually takes and most is already done or should be,

including on the Diagnostics & the Road Test, is why VW, Seat, Audi might only charge the £50 extra for the Plugs.
