Upgrade Stereo in Fabia 2 Estate 2008

Featured Replies

Hi new Skoda owner here, bought it on Saturday.   It has the Dance headunit installed at the moment which is terrible, radio reception is very poor cant seem to pick up any am stations and FM stations are pretty hit and miss.

I also miss having the option to play MP3s from USB or via Bluetooth from my phone so was looking to install a new headunit, with also DAB if possible.

I would like to keep the factory look though if possible so what are the options in that regard, I like the look of the Balero headunit but I understand that a new model wont fit plus I don't know if that has DAB or USB support though it may have an SD reader also would this head unit work on a 2008 Fabia?

If there is no factory option I was looking at this Kenwood unit http://www.caraudiocentre.co.uk/product_m-kenwood-dpx-406dab_p-32626.htm

which would tick all my boxes though I do prefer the factory look.  If I go with the Kenwood which adaptors do I need if any and is there a facia that would help it blend in a bit better?

Thanks for any assistance you guys can offer

I got my facia of ebay for £15 i think from car audio warehouse and it even came with all adapters !!!

is your facia a double din?

I just wanted to know what I needed to buy so everything is ready for install.

I went with the Kenwood I posted in the first post, which is a double din headunit, I found out I need a harness adaptor and an ariel adaptor bought both from amazon for less than a tenner.

Once the head unit arrives I guess I will find out if i need a facia then to blend in with the dash. The facia units ive seen for the 2007> fabia all convert from double din to single, so I'm presuming the facia surround that is in place at the moment is enough.

I got a single with a little compartment mate
