Mitsui Ipod connector cables - where to buy?

Featured Replies

My dealer has quoted £35 for a cable to connect my old style iPod to my nice new car.

Is there anywhere cheaper? I've looked on ebay and there appears to be a number of cheaper options but sometimes things are cheap for a reason....

Where has everyone got theirs from?

Steve

I've got one left over from my previous passat, which i believe is the same interface. You're welcome to try it and send beer tokens if it works.

Post a pic of the connection so i can see if it's the same

Also note cables that look the same have a different coloured collars, you need the correct coloured collar to go with your ipod.

it looks the same.  Basically, the one I had is the same as this.

VW call it an Multi Device Interface (MDI).  I used it with a 4th Gen Ipod Touch so a classic Ipod should have the same connector I'd have thought.

I'll post a picture of the actual cable when I get home later (or possibly over the weekend if I dont get time tonight) so you can decide for yourself.
