Just post the URL will ya!

what about those that didn't see it but still fancy something similar? ;)

go on geoff, post the link, Q has said so!

There is nothing wrong with posting links to good online deals. It is something else if you come on here just to advertise without seeking permission from Colin.

You can buy the Tom Tom 2 system on ebay for about

I use TomTomII - it's pretty good. That deal is for an IPAQ + TT2 so that's pretty damn good!

Maybe either of you would like to write up a review for the review section? I'm sure many others are interested in this sort of thing (Colin, are you listening ? ;)).

Maybe some of us furby owners could do with sat nav ;)

if any one wants to buy my navigator i would love to buy one however for that money i am thinking other mods for car:D

I'll set mine up in the car when i get home tomorrow and send you a few pics ;)

Basically its a Windscreen (sucker) mount for the PDA, and the GPS receiver sits on a small metal plate which sticks on top of your dashboard.

Power is sullpied via the usual Ciggie lighter lead, but i also have the TomTom Car Kit (

Monkeyhanger what else do you want???;)

seriously i can get hold of it for about

Question is, can anybody get the PDA's bit cheaper?

Tempted by out of UK imports (as they would be I guess, doh!) but only really if such a bargin, these things break you know ;)

Is that a good PDA?

tempted moi? no just testing there add remove cart processing :D

Gone and done it, forever getting lost going to the shops, normally end up driving at high speeds across country on B roads meeting strange men with inane grins on their faces in outlandish coloured cars

Geoff - did you purchase a secure digital card with your PDA. I also purchased the car kit which I will get my local auto electrical engineer to fit.

ive no idea where you could get them cheaper colin.

thought about this for some time and what i really want from a satnav system is the ability for it to dynamically reroute me when it 'hears about' traffic up ahead.

don't think the pda ones can do this, can they?

Nope they can't. Mine can, but it didn't quite seem to be working when stuck on the bleeding M6 on Sunday evening after Oulton Park :( Or maybe it was just the only route available...

I'm not sure on ones that react to traffic reports, but most of them can dynamically reroute anyway, so if you're stuck in traffic then you can just come off the next junction and "freestyle" and it'll still get you there. Only problem is if you come off the motorway and it says "at next roundabout, carry straight on to join Mxx"... :D

Get a road map...last year's is only about

was in my dad's car and was seriously impressed how it got us around some pretty nasty traffic.

does anyone know about the smartnav system? what i mean is, do they think it's any good? i like it in principle, but i would really like a visual display ( even a small one ) of sorts for confirmation. very, very interested especially as you can get fixed camera speed detection ( and tracking if you want it ) as part of the package.

Huck,

on that site there is one that takes traffic updates, it's the 2nd one down IIRC...will look later, but it's my fave of them, except for cost...Also want a hand held out of car solution in case I ever venture into a city center etc etc.

The PDA is not importnant, although I can see it would become important, as most usefull things do I guess.

Summary view of features....will have to email them to see how good there traffice update/re-routing is.

I can see this class of product evolving very quickly, as for me there appear to be a few obvious gaps in feature lists...but that's me I guess.
