fabia 1.9tdi pd cambelt kits - brands

Featured Replies

hello,

I need to change the cambelt on my 2001 Fabia. I paid my local TPS a visit and £140, pump not included.

On ebay:

SKF kit from Euro Car Parts £100

Dayco kit £66

I always thought that SKF was a good brand, their tools are good at least. Has anyone got any experience with these timing belts kits?

I dont want to spend a fortune as my car is 14 years old, 152k on the clock and worth £700 at most.

Regards,

Simon

Dayco are good kits, no point spending the extra dollar on the skf kit.

Gates or genuine for me. I might be a tight ****** normally, but some things are worth paying the right money for.

Go for Dayco the quality will be on par with the skf kit but for a lot less.

Never had any hassle with dayco

Gates

Both Dayco and gates supy various OEM. Both as good.

SKF are good but I always get Gates for timing belts.

I must admit i normally buy gates stuff too, but thats only because thats what the motor factors supply me, conti kits are good too, also ina kits are good. btw the dayco kit wiill probably have skf tensioners anyway.
