High beam/DRL bulb

Featured Replies

Skoda only give a very brief mention of an H15 bulb which apparently is for the above.

Having looking around for a "Brighter" alternative the results list Golf MK6/7 etc and typing in Skoda Rapid says that this bulb is incorrect.

Has anybody had experience of upgrading this bulb yet? And is it in fact an H15?

I looked on Halfords website and they list an H7 which is incorrect and there's no mention of a DRL bulb.

This is confusing [emoji57]

The Toledo has H7 bulbs in both the dipped and main beam lights, all the sites I checked before getting them were wrong.

Not sure is the Rapid the same, but I assume it is?

It's strange because they list the H15 as being a combined High beam bulb and DRL together. The H7 apparently is just for dipped beam on the Rapid.

No. SEAT & Skoda lamp layouts are different.

The site I use for my bulbs, powerbulbs, does not even list the full set of bulbs for the Rapid ?

Ok, Seat are better so obviously :)

I agree listings for bulbs on theses are scarce.

Only thing to do is take one out and see [emoji57]

Or ring your dealer, I'd say they will call out instantly with a whole new headlght just in case :)

It is a H15 for the high beam/DRL, with the H7 for the dipped.

Looked for an uprated H15 bulb last year but none were available, although the factory bulbs in ours seem pretty good, so just replaced the dipped and sidelights with uprated Osram items.

Its only over the last couple of years or so that Skoda have stopped listing bulbs in the handbook and only now mention how to replace them; maybe a ruse to get you to go to the dealer for replacements :wonder:

Same here, looked to update the bulbs but couldn't find any h15's. I went down the route of osram night breaker (h7 - dipped beam) and an LED sidelight with canbus. There were a few h15's on eBay but they were unknown brands so I don't want to risk it at the moment.

Yes there is. I don't trust them either. Don't want the electrics frying.

  • 1 year later...

I have and others ordered so the drl/high beam match the xenons and led's in spots. Hopefully here in a few days.

Car has still not arrived yet though so will prob be next week till fitted, ill post some before and after pics as soon as i can, am curious myself how good of a match they will be.

Preferably id have had night breakers as they are a pure 4300k white, but they are not doing an H15 in them, anytime soon anywah.
