Mirror Glass

Featured Replies

Where is the best place to get replacement mirror glass that's the same as OEM? I need to do both sides as the passenger side has been replaced before I bought the car and is completely flat glass so is quite annoying.

The drivers side has now started coming off the backing so is vibrating when driving.

I got a new one last week from TPS. £50 each

Sent from my Galaxy S5

eBay seller has very good replacements for about £12 each. That's for standard heated ones.

Can't remember the seller's name, but search on here in the Octavia II forum as there are many happy customers. Myself included.

Got mine off Ebay, Genuine mirror, heated was about £12 each side, Dealer goes by the name

Most of the eBay ones are good quality for the money

Just bought one for either side of these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Q75-SKODA-OCTAVIA-MK2-1Z-RIGHT-SIDE-DRIVER-HEATED-DOOR-MIRROR-GLASS-05-09/181607525603?_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20140122125356%26meid%3D2be9c71c64de4d2498eb52ddc890f976%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D3%26rkt%3D6%26sd%3D131059308907&rt=nc

Its the ones KBPhoto recommended in another thread. Good quality, look identical to oem on the back (even down to the tiny bit of machining on the backing plate on the outer corner) Around £11 each.

That's the ones I mentioned. OVI-Autos. Couldn't recall the name last time I posted.

I wonder if these are any good.

They look to be convex

They look fine, except heater pins are in slightly different position so make sure your wires are long enough as if I recall correctly, they are only just long enough at the top. V good price though if good replacement and work properly. Good feedback on almost 140,000 products.

Had no issues with the pins / wires on mine from OVI-Autos. But always worth checking if you can first.

I think I am referring to the other ones Softscoop is looking at. Hence quoting his quote only.

The ones you are referring to have the pins in the same place as oem. so would not pose any problem.

Good spot. My mistake. Sorry.

facelift or pre-facelift?

I have both side from my facelift, as i retrofitted auto-dimming

Hi how much for passenger side posted?

And are they easy to replace?

Last year I picked up a pair (non-OE), heated, blue glass and blind spot thingy for 20 quid off ebay. :)

And are they easy to replace?

Dead easy:

Mirror tilted all the way down, fingers in the gap at the top and gentley pull. You'll feel it pop off. Undo the wires and you'll have it in your hand.

Should take about as long as it did to read this ;) ;)

Do the standard left side mirrors have the blind spot part?

No.

So the standard left side mirror is flat and not convex?

So the standard left side mirror is flat and not convex?

It is essentially flat.

The OS mirror has an obvious bend for the blind spot.
