Superb Estate

Featured Replies

I've allways wondered why there has never been any attempt from skoda to build the superb estate. I reakon it would sell very well in the larger estate market. Also it having much more leg room etc. would be brilliant for families etc as well as been a very luxery estate.

Also do you think skoda is ever likely to revamp the superb... DSG, 2.0TDi etc.... shorly with the new octy out the superb is lagging behind a bit

When estate Superb was rummored, techinical problems with rigidity were rummoured but that was also said with the folding seats that have now appeared.

Superb with 2.0TDI has been announced at Frankfurt motorshow and in Autoexpress review this week. Doubt they will facelift or build an estate. Superb 2006MY only has new steering wheel and bit of chrome intake trim like the Edition 100.

I recon it will be dropped after Roomster and Yeti are launched and the Superb factory will be used for that purpose - my thoughts only.

Have to agree with you there!

Seen the pix of estate a few years ago. Would have been a real E200 beater. Apparently VW forced Skoda to can it.

looks good in the pics... really would hit the higher market well.... and im sure over in skodaland they would appreciate an even bigger car to the octy estate

Because animals and small children would get lost in the back , never to be seen again

From what ive heard the new Superb is on the cards. However it will be following the Audi A6 platform rather than the transverse new Passat platform. This would mean no DSG option but they could opt for the 3.0 PD.

3.0PD , now that sounds good :D:thumbup:

My Dad should get his 3.0 PD Audi A6 next week :)

"Audi has developed this engine to the stage where it has none of the conventional diesel drawbacks. Just all the plus points. This new 3.0-litre diesel engine is currently the most advanced oil-burning powerplant you can buy. But, as undoubtedly interesting and important as it is, you don't need to understand about the piezo fuel-injection technology or the variable geometry turbocharger with twin intercoolers. All you need to know are the numbers: a hefty 225bhp and even more torque than the range-topping 335bhp 4.2 V8 petrol engine. And such is the nature of the turbodiesel beast that the TDi is more sparing with the fuel."

mmm - that would be great :D if they are allowed to keep plodding in this large saloon market

As much as many would like to see it, I really think its a white elephant. Looking at the drop off in VW group sales, and economic climate especially the labour issues in Germany, I fail to see VW allowing it's own group companies to produce a better and more in demand car, undercutting its own marque.

I think the Superb will be finished and dropped in the near future.
