Skoda Fabia water on rear off side footwell.

Featured Replies

Thank you for reading this. I am pulling my hair out now. I had a water leak on my Fabia where water was noticed on both rear foot wells so I did the seal fix and the nearside appears to be ok. I also ensured the sun roof drain was clear as well as clearing the plenum chamber. I did not seal the front doors although the door thresholds are dry.

I cannot however cure the off side where water is still found in the off side footwell. If it helps, I reverse into my drive which is on a slope, so the back is lower than the front. This must mean the water is coming from the front? However the front carpet appears dry and when I move the seat forward there is a ridge so I would not have thought water could get over that. Also under the seat is the footwell heater channel like a plastic funnel this is dry.

Any help or other things to check would be great. Thank you.

Are you sure that your seal fix has been completely successful.

What sealant did you use?  You have to really plaster it on.

I used the skoda sealant, like a black mastic. Before using the sealant I would see water on the rubber seal around the bottoms of the door threshold and the bottom of the door lining would feal damp.

Now I didn't do the front doors thinking that as no water was on the thresholds at the front they were fine. I can see how water can come from the front and over that ridge that's under the front seat. Equally I can't see there been a problem at the boot area, as I park facing upwards on a hill.

This morning I poured water on the windscreen and it came out from under the wheel arch lining and a drain hole under the car so I think that's good.

I am now going to get the water can and pour water onto each area and check for leaks !

I can't remember quite what it looks like under the front seats, but I'm pretty sure that there's a way through under that ridge you're referring to, so water can get from front to back easily.  Someone will hopefully correct me if I'm completely wrong here.

Well after pouring water on the windows, it's not those. I saw droplets of water under the plastic lining to the right of the door locking post. So poured water on sun roof and boot area, still nothing but water I think is coming down then under back seat onto rear foot well.

This is a proper challenge ! Please help anyone!!

My 1st thought was could it be where the hose connects for rear washer

Mine was disconnected under that plastic trim next to rear seat. Causing wet carpet

Sadly not, washer is fine, only leaks after rain fall.
