Seen a private plate on a taxi the other day which had the perfect plate for my car. Is there anyway i could somehow get in contact to ask if he would sell it? or do i need to hope i see the taxi again and get him to pull over?

 

I think the plate would probably put the value up on the car and not sure why a plate like that is on a taxi (not mentioning the plate as i want it for myself haha).

Maybe the number is on the Taxi because it is the owners Cherished / Personal Plate.

Owner probably buys and sells reg numbers. If you're biding your time to get the right price it can take years, so its cheaper to stick them on a car than to keep renewing the retention every year.

£80 it costs to put it on... its £25 a year retention so you can afford to wait 3 years.

You can now retain a reg for ten years for 80 quid

The only way is to contact the car owner and hope they want to sell at a price agreeable to you

Everytime i've been out i'm looking at every taxi i see haha. Just don't hope i need to start running up the road chasing a taxi just to find if he wants to sell it lol.

Just swing by the local hackney stands on the way home each day to spot it
