Give me a clue please...?

Featured Replies

As the new owner of a Mk111 184ps Octavia Scout, my 2nd Scout and our 5th Skoda, I'm very impressed with the car which seems to be laden with extras....not the norm for a demonstrator I'm sure. (And we went to view a Superb 4x4...in 1st class condition and very well equipped - both at Meaden's in Sway.

From tow-bar prepared to uprated headlights, not forgetting a heated windscreen, it really seems to offer a lot. The only wish would have been for folding mirrors.

I digress, my problem seems to be just how to refuel the car from a can? When refuelling at the pump a small sprung loaded flap is pushed aside by the nozzle of the diesel pump....however when using a can the nozzle of the fuel funnel will not push the flap aside...I've used to 2 different funnels, neither have worked!

Is there an owner who can offer advice (who has actually used a funnel on their Mk111 with success) on how to overcome this small problem?

My thoughts are that the flap could be to prevent a petrol pump nozzle by mistake, or to deter fuel siphoning?.....or?
