Amundsen sat nav maps update.

Featured Replies

If you own a VW you can download the maps. Skoda haven't got round to releasing them yet.

I've been running the ECE2015/6 maps on my Columbus for a week or so now.

Keep checking the update portal, Skoda normally release right at the end of the month, so due any day now.

  • So they are - I've just posted a direct download link. No sign of the Columbus ones yet though.

Latest 2015/16 maps for Amundsen seem to be up:

The Columbus ones are there, I am now downloading....

Weird, they weren't on my VIN 10 minutes ago.

What is the filename shown in the title bar of the downloader window - does it have P123 or P98 in the filename?

Still not offering me the maps for the Columbus from the update portal when I input my VIN, but I've found the file on their servers and posted a direct link :)

P123

Found the file thanks, odd that I'm not offered them off of my VIN though, still offered ECE2015 - maybe Skoda try and stagger it by VIN to spread the load on the servers - posting a direct download link won't help them with that :)

I got the new maps when I used my VIN-numer on the portal.

I'm in the same boat as you, still being offered the old ECE 2015 maps, maybe staggered to spread the load on the servers like you said.

Doesnt seem like there is a lot of load on now atleadt. DLing with 5.6 MB/s.

Can I use that Direct DL link that Andyvee has kindly provided in a new thread to DL the 2015/2016 update even though it's not get coming up in the portal when I input my VIN?

Sorry, I'm new to this Sat Nav update malarkey!!

I would guess so. Quite sure its the exact same file.

O.K. thanks!! DL'ing now at 8.9MB/sec  should only take 10 minutes.  Boy, do I love Fibre broadband!!

I'm getting offered the file now on the portal.

me too, though I downloaded it late last night from your direct link in the other thread.

I just bought an used Amundsen+. I tried entering the VIN number of the car it was in before, but it told me I already had the latest updates. I have western europe v4 installed currently. Is that the latest version?

I believe the downloads in this thread are for the later Amundsen unit as used in the Mk3 Octavia, which has the CD drive in the glovebox.  If you've got an Amundsen+ with the CD drive in the unit itself then it's a different system and these updates will not work for you AFAIK.

The system seems to do it all for you now.  I can no longer find a link to download the actual file itself.

What you download is a Downloader.exe program (which seems to mean you need Windows)......

Does this mean if you have a Mac you can't download the updates?

Don't know.  It may be that if you have a Mac it offers a Mac executable to download.

The good news is that andyvee has posted a direct download link in this thread.  Beware that a Mac often seems to put some of its own system files on an SD card that the Amundsen does not like.  Details and workarounds in this thread.

Oops, I did a google search and I was certain this was in the MK2 forums... My bad

Thanks! I'll have a read of andyvee's post

I can confirm that it works on Mac with no issues. The download automatically unzipped itself into a folder which I just copied to the SD Card and job done. I always use the Cleanup SMB Mess app mentioned earlier and highly recommend it.
