Washing Seat covers

Featured Replies

I took the bottom section off my drivers seat and stuck it in the washing machine at 60 degrees and it seems to have ran the dark colour into the light and made a mucky grey colour! Ang ideas where I'm going wrong? Thanks Dan

Have you let it dry thoroughly? As I know the grey can go quite dark when wet?

Yes I even put it back through the wash but it hasn't changed. Thinking about buying a hand held steam cleaner and seeing if that will clean the interior

Well for me the obvious error was washing your cover at 60? Majority of fabrics won't like being washed that hot. Why didn't you do them on 40?

Mrs does the washing in my house so it was a bit of an amatuer effort. Yea will tone the heat down to 30-40 next time. Just started steam cleaning to see if that changes the appearance

Anybody got a drivers seat top half cover for sale? I have jumped in with a screwdriver in my back pocket and torn it badly. Grrrrrrrrrrrr

I have a complete set front and rear seats only problem is I can't be arsed to mess about with postage.

Lol sorry I knew what you meant. I converted my seats to Octavia half leather but I kept all the cloth and foam from the originals, it's all in very good condition apart from the drivers seat base (the part that you sit on not the upper part).

I'll have a word with my boss about using the works courier service and see what he says.

Love the Pulsar by the way, I used to run a Primera GT but always lusted after a Pulsar/ GTI-R.

I knew someone who had a Primera Gt he said it was quite quick for a n/a car. Should of chucked an engine in and kept it 2wd, different animal.

Ohh ... may as well experiment, buy some black die in a bucket and have what we all want :P black seats :)

Who wants black seats?

I personally like the look of the vrs seats and more so the octavia seats, it's keeping them clean that's the problem lol.

Lot of people want darker seats, due to the whites getting dirt... kids, dogs, messy jobs etc

Yeah I understand that I just think most of the darker seats look a bit bland and boring at least the vrs seats have a little bit of character.

Still a good clean up and some protection should help quite a bit.

Hia, need a drivers seat cover and the double rear base if any one has one? Or if anyone knows where I can get one repaired in the Leeds area? How do they come off?

Cheers

Use the search function mate, this has been well covered and there is a guide on here somewhere.

Well I brought some 3m scotch guard stuff from ebay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEW-3M-SCOTCH-GARD-SCOTCHGARD-MULTI-PURPOSE-FABRIC-UPHOLSTERY-LEATHER-PROTECTOR-/400725006782?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&var=&hash=item5d4d1259be Seems to have done a decent job up to now.

Gtechniq do some as well sorry i can't compare the two as i've not used it but Gtechniq have a pretty solid reputation. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Gtechniq-I1-Smart-Fabric-1-Litre-Fabric-Protector-/261517086176?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item3ce3a20de0 They do smaller bottles for less money that was just first one I found.

Also Chemical Guys do some as well. So basically it's take your pick they will do the same job and all three of the company's mentioned have good reps.

I have a complete interior cloth and foam bud. Johngt has already asked for the drivers seat upper cloth and the base is not in top condition the bolster has worn through unfortunately. If you want any of the other bit's then that's fine I will get my butt into gear and dig them out and get some postage quotes.

If you could let me know the cost of the rear double cover, would be appreciated. Cheers
