**petrol In Diesel**

Featured Replies

Have noticed quite a number of threads recently regarding people accidently in a moment of madness wacking petrol in their diesels.

So heres the plan :D ....

All diesel owners WILL do this now, whether you feel ur intellegent or not it could happen to you in a moment of madness and your going to be paying the bill so... to save your

Get a Superb diesel .....you get it printed twice and stuck on already for you

Save paper and ink, and engage the brain when pulling up at the pump, looking for the black nozzle and words "Diesel".

Being a stingy bu99er, I check the price being displayed. That makes it obvious it's diesel!

I also follow the delivery hose back from the nozzle to the pump to make sure they haven't got swapped over. Colour doesn't help: Shell diesel pumps are blue; Sainsbury's are yellow.

I havent had a diesel pump that isnt black. But even so, I still check the wording on the nozzle cap anyway.

Try doing my job. Can be anything up to 8 new cars to put fuel in one day when we have alot of sales work, could be petrol, could be diesel.

Read and re read the cap. Cant put diesel in a petrol (nozzle is a different size so wont fit) but it will go the other way around..lol.

Here's what you want.. http://www.dieselguard.com/

If you can stand the humiliation at the pumps.

This has done the rounds before but I felt it was appropriate for this thread.

Oh and by the way, I saw a garage with unleaded at

Do you look at your filler cap before you fill up? I do it all automatically now .... heaven help me if the other half buys a petrol car :o:rofl:

Chris

I've got one petrol and one diesel car.... made easier by the fact that (as I stand behind the car) if the filler's on the left, I put petrol in... if it's on the right, it's diesel!

Never got it the wrong way round yet, but there's always a first time (as magnum67 found out last night lol)

 Harsh but fair

I have one petrol and one diesel

the petrol you cant get the diesel nozzle in anyway. But the diesel..... my trick it always have it filthy as hell around the filler car, covered in spills, its gets all over your hands, and stinks. no prob there:)

but here diesel is yellow, petrol SP 95 SP 98 (dont have 91) are green, have to watch you dont mess up and use a SUPER they are blue! this is LEADED petrol, yes you can still get that over here in about 30% of garages.

Thats exactly the same for me.

I learnt the hard way, now i follow one simple rule

Dont let Michelle fill up the car
