surging engine / boost issue

Cool, pm me if you want the MAP

Will do mate thanks

I totally get why people like the "tisssshhh" of a DV, but surely the more sound, the more the turbulence which means the turbo will be slowing down more than necessary.  For performance, the quieter the better I would think?  As discussed atmospheric DVs are a bad idea for these VW 1.8Ts.  If you really want a tissshh why not fit a seperate MAP sensor and wire it up to an actuator on a big cylinder of compressed gas :D

Thinking about that some more, divert the compressed gas to the intercooler and you get a charge cooler too :)

Run the rear window washer pipe to a spray jet and aim it onto the intercooler, caveman cooler???

I've just deleted my rear wiper was thinking about it, thoughts YellowCar?

Do you have an issue with intake temps? I would say stage 2 and below uprating cooler itself is sufficient. If I did that I'd want a proper cooling system installed, would be pretty difficult to do well like that. Just get a bigger intercooler.

Have you got the car sorted now?

hi all

I was down at my mates garage today and it looks like it's ether the pipe going from the dv to the actuator or the actuator itself that's goosed, does anyone have that pipe and or an old actuator I could have/buy to swap them out?

Thanks marko

My bad, it's the pipe going from the boost control valve to the actuator...

Is it not just a normal piece of vacuum pipe between the N75 and the actuator?

Think it is Mate, do you the code for that pipe?

Bit of silicone hose will do, check internal diameter and order a length off ebay.

SORRY TO HI JACK but mk1 vrs surging between 3700 and 500 rpm ? was thinking n75 maybe as no leaks
