PID voices

Featured Replies

I've looked online and the manual and I cant work out how to change the voice for the voice commands on the sat nav, any ideas.

Don't think you can, I think you only have the generic male voice available, you can download a "funny voices" via the fresh store which you use to upgrade your PID

You could on the Navigon unit but not on a Garmin one [emoji57]

There was a female voice option more than year ago, but it was dropped for some reason on an update. The female voice file was smaller in size, thus cannot pronounce street names, if that is important for someone. You could easily just copy the female voice over your PID, if you can find one, and it is then selectable from PID's menu. That is for Garmin, don't know about Navigon.

I don't have my PID in the car; I could not get on with it. It is a distraction in the position where it is mounted & way too much fuss to try to use as a route finder & only the car info is of any interest to me. I was browsing it while attached to the mains via charger & found a voice change option & did change from the man's voice, very deep - 'Watch your speed' - to the female, but did not try to hear it. From what is said here it probably does not exist now.

I did see that option, but at £20!!, I was quite shocked as there are loads for my old tomtom that are free.

The female voice wasn't to my taste anyways, kept it on the male voice when I had the Citigo. Still had a female voice next to me though saying we were both going wrong.
