Soundproofing the octavia

Featured Replies

Has anyone done this and have a few pictures or guide on how to remove the interior? I am planning to soundproof the floor, wheel arches, trunk and around the back seats. I am just worried on how to get the trims and mats off

438 pages, great now I have something to do over the weekend! Thanks!

Be interested in this also, need to check out the front door cards as there is the airbag pressure sensors to watch out for

This is a skoda workshop manual mentioned in "radio removal" post

kristianRS - Sorry to go off-topic.

Tanelv - do you have a workshop manual for the mechanicals?

I think the aforementioned (great) link (http://vwforum.ro/to...nual-octavia-3/) should be put among the available technical resources.

Moderators, what do you think?

I'm trying to remove the trim in the boot to get to the rear wheel arches but are having issues. Anyone who can give some guidance?

Have you checked post #2 ? Download the pdf and its all in section 7.4, "Removing and installing side luggage compartment trim panel"

Does anyone have a link to "Electrical System; Rep. gr. 96" which is referenced a lot in the Body Work guide?  For example, when removing the door trims is says "Remove trim -2- for power window lifter ⇒ Electrical System;
Rep. gr. 96 and disconnect plugs -3 and 4-." so that guide tells you how to remove the hockey-stick door handle, as an example...

Can these guides all be added to the Technical Guide sticky also?

When I fitted the towbar to my 2015 octavia scout I had to get access to the n/s rear wheel arch.

It is possible to do with a little patience , but I was surprised at how little sound proofing there was and very poor quality compared to our previous car a Volvo XC70 2012.

If you do get this job done I think it would make a massive difference.

Brian.

Are you sure this is for the MK3? I thought several sections was about the MK2 (or at least it looked like it when trying to follow the steps), but perhaps I was not looking in the estate section. I'll give it one more try. Thanks!

Page 1 says "Octavia III 2013 > Octavia III 2014" ..........................

Tanelv's Workshop Manual links have been moved and incorporated with this sticky thread. Good find.
