Ton up

Finally hit the 100,000 mile marker.

Just goes to show how strong these 1.8T really are. This car has been heavily tuned for the last 80,000+ miles and been driven, shall we say quite briskly.

I still think the Ford Cosworth engine is still one of the most tunable engines going but the 1.8T is snapping at it's heels and growing in popularity.

I hope I can get another 100K out of my RS because at the mo there is nothing to match it. Long live the 1.8T.

good show, got your standard turbo sorted out yet?

mine stil making right funny noises :(

just wondering if it is worth doing in the short term :cofused:

Impressive, Des! Can I come to the party? :D

Des, give it another 100k miles and Skoda will want to buy it back off you to prove how reliable engines are, especially when treated carefully and staying in standard form just as when they left the factory

edit, sorry, must be thinking of your mate's octy :D

Where did you have to stop to take that pic? :D

Um, exactly how many different turbos have had to be fitted, though? ;)

DES

YOU'VE LEFT THE HANDBRAKE ON !!!!!!!!!

My guess is on the hard shoulder of the M2 in the Mudway area. Do I win the prize, Des? :)

Yeah, he just stopped to clean the car so it looked its best for when someone took his photo again

Damn those bridges

I still can't beleive the miles you do! I remember when you got that car - mine had about 30k on it. In those couple of years mine has now done a grand total of............. 42k

Bah, I'm only short 2K miles of the 100K... Ah well, there is always next month ;)

good to see the engines solid.... our '02 octy 4x4 is only just over 30k so a fair few miles left in her yet (2nd turbo though!)

I've just rolled over 88k and...... dont take this the wrong way...... I'm looking forward to someone elses blowing up at 100k+ to give me a good idea when to get rid of mine ;)

Nice one Des. Hope the Furby's can last as long. I hope so anyway.

We've got a Furby as well so I hope so too.

nice one Des, it does go to show how strong these engines are even when running more than standard power

vRS driving policeman expressed concern over how strong they were.Better direct him to this post!

I know TaviaRS did a piece on what things 'went' during the period he had his car +cost etc.Anything special go wrong with your car during 100k? (presume you have uprated clutch etc though ) or has it been a pretty trouble free time?

100K? Mines on a 51 plate and its still under 21k :D

Minicab
