Ton up

Finally hit the 100' date='000 mile marker.

Just goes to show how strong these 1.8T really are. This car has been heavily tuned for the last 80,000+ miles and been driven, shall we say quite briskly.

I still think the Ford Cosworth engine is still one of the most tunable engines going but the 1.8T is snapping at it's heels and growing in popularity.

I hope I can get another 100K out of my RS because at the mo there is nothing to match it. Long live the 1.8T.[/quote']

Well done  . My mate got rid of his Volvo 850 T5 at just over 200k and was running over 300hp. Modern engines are great :)

I reckon the thing that will fail is the water pump. Unless you took the precaution of changing it with the cam belt.

There is no reason why the car wont keep going for another 100k. Its more likely to be things like ancilary electricals that fail (climate, washer pumps, windows, locks etc)

and then the big

:)

Think you missed a 0 off :D

mines on about 108k at the moment

I used to think 100k was a monsterous mileage, and wouldn't have considered a car with so many miles, especially not a petrol engine...

But they really aren't ropey or anything, big  to the 1.8T!

And I hope my Fabia lasts about 120k miles or so...

My Octy is 25 months old and has 60K showing now, been re-mapped plus other mods since 10K and been running the last 3K-4K on LPG and all is well.

LPG is all good, great filling up for

Sold my 1.8T Octy, with 82k and no problems, to my dad. It's still going strong. I ran a Rover Vitesse with a turbo for 168k miles and it still ran well. Are turbo's supposed to blow up at around 80k cos although I have been told that, I have no proof. Hope my dad's doesn't blow up cos I will feel like I have to pay for the repair myself!

mine is a bit dodgy sounding now at 108,000
