First Mod - Bonnet Strut

Featured Replies

I bought the Super Skoda kit off a guy on eBay and decided not to install it straight away......... I went on a hunt to find matching spray paint, primer etc and this is how it looked.

Primed up:

I'm very happy with the results as a first mod for a complete novice and I think painting it up finishes it off nicely, shame I can't paint up the buts after being refitted!!

Looks neat - perhaps just need to watch it doesn't put a twist in your bonnet. I think others have experienced this problem and ended up removing the strut!

Oh really, for what reason would it twist the bonnet?

Off top of my head I can't recall the details (though there is thread somewhere on here about it) but I think it was preventing the bonnet from lying flush on the side with the lifter and this was resulting in an uneven panel gap between the bonnet and wings.

There's a big thread in the group buy section.

I'm happy with mine, but if you you run your finger down the shut line the bonnet does sits very slightly higher on the strut side. It's not visible unless you crouch down and study it though!

Some people can live with it, others can't.

Cheers guys, think I can live with it too!
