1.9 tdi 105bhp rough idle sometimes

Featured Replies

Hi my Octavia 1.9 tdi sometimes idle like a v8 rocking the whole car it has also started to shaking under load has anyone else had problems like this??

Yes. Mine was supposedly faulty injector/s.

Change your fuel filter first as this had the most pronounced effect on mine after having had the injectors changed.

Hi I have gave the car a full service hoping that would sort the problem but with no luck I drove 400+ miles yesterday without the problem happening and today it hasn't stopped doing it!

Is there a loud rattle at idle coming from the gearbox area?

Hi phil there is no strange noises coming from the car at all just runs lumpy on idle and while driving sometimes it's had a recon gearbox new dmf, clutch new vac pipes I've had it in my local garage and they think it's the egr playing up every now and then but vag com finds no codes so I'm at a loss with it!

The shaking under load I have had several times on the run with my Golf and a beetle. Traced it down to the tyres. I replaced the shockers thinking that was the reason but as the tyres approached the limit, the shaking returned. Much worse going uphill. Tyres seem to wear on the inner edges first even though the tracking is spot on. I've been through three tyre changes now and the symptoms always appear when they are due to be replaced.
