DAB not available on new Columbus

Featured Replies

We had a new Columbus with DAB installed in our Superb this evening but don't seem to be able to pick up any DAB stations.

The fitter said it could take some time to connect.  Anyone know how long?

Did you also have a DAB aerial installed?

Yes it was installed just behind the rear view mirror.

Should be instantaneous....as above, provided aerial is connected (correctly) you should pick up just like FM.

You might need to 'auto tune' stations to get the basic presets up and running though....If that sounds like a task the Columbus handbook is available on here as a free download somewhere...(or certainly on the Skoda.co.uk website)

Along with being technically inferior, sound quality wise to Fm, I find DAB reception very patchy.

Can't get it at all, where I live.

I'd check the aerial connection, as said.

I suppose it depends where you live as to the reception but I've always found it quite good around here.

You can't get (a decent) 5live or other 'niche' programmes on FM so DAB is a must for me.

As above. it should be instant which indicates a problem somewhere.

Take it back to the fitter.

I had a smaller DAB device with aerial that I bought from Halfords which worked perfectly in this area.

I have emailed the fitter and am waiting for a response.
