1.6tdi greenline tyre pressure

Featured Replies

Hi ime having a bit of trouble understanding the correct tyre pressure on the in side of the fuel filler cap

What should it be set at

Here's what happened after the first 500 mile I mentioned on here that I thought the yeti was a bit noisey so I was going to have a noise soundproof kit fitted and the someone suggested that if I let a bit of air out of the tyres and it might quieten the road roar down a bit so I reduced the pressure to 32psi on each tyre

Any way at 1800 miles last week I went to the garage and put the pressure upto 35psi to see if it made any differance and actually I think it's quieter now and ime getting better mpg was 62 on the maxi now it's 68 on the same types of journey

So my question is what is the correct pressure for a 1.6tdi greenline

On my 140 DSG the settings shown on the fuel flap are for running with up to 2 or 4 people. I rarely have anyone else in the car than my wife and I so it's usually set to the lower value. The only time I vary it was when I towed my caravan, now sold, and then I increased it to the higher value.

I've never noticed any difference in the noise levels which I suspect would be more dependant on tyre make and type.

Hi agh321

Most of the time I run at 2.2 Frt 2.4 rear.

If I load up as if 4 people + Luggage in I go up a tad to 2.8 rear. But thats not too often.

I cant really say the road noise is loud at all. Yes typical tyre road noise, but thats how most new cars are nowadays.

Couple of weeks ago I got 5 self stickie pads off e, bay (301442643285) and fitted then to underside of bonnet. Refitted OE pad & then trimmed round to take excess off.

Maybe a bit quieter but just made the bonnet heavier. LOL

With just me and one passenger I run midway between the Greenline Eco pressure and normal.

It feels right.

What should normal greenline pressure be

What should normal greenline pressure be

For normal light running it's 0.3 bar below the Eco pressure as on the filler flap.

Can't help with your model but, I'm running with 32psi with just me and the other half on board.

Seems good road holding and tyres are wearing evenly, that's after 26000 miles.

You could always give a Skoda dealer's workshop a call for their opinion.

If you multiply the bar pressure by 14.5037738 you will have the PSI

If you divide the PSI by 14.5037738 you will have the bar pressure

Or 1 standard atmosphere is 1 Bar

My pre-FL only shows 2 pressure options
