No wiser if I'll get MY16 or not :(

Featured Replies

Been reading through posts and looks like this week is the flip between MY15 and MY16, but i'm still waiting on the dealer coming back to me with a build week...

I've ordered an Octavia vRS 2.0 CR TDI DSG, and the order was placed on the 22nd of April, and was told 'around 3 months', which would put me somewhere around the 22nd of July, and going from what I can glean from others, looks like there is about 4 weeks from the build finishing and it getting to the UK, and if it's a 1 week build, going backwards, looks like the build week should be around week 25 which is the 15th to 21st of June.

I've got pretty much the standard spec except from the front parking sensors, amundsen satnav and colour maxi-dot, i'm not overly fussed on missing out on missing out of silly little changes, but if it's something like MIB2, etc then I might be :)

Anyone care to weigh in on whether these dates seem about right and if it's likely to be about the right dates ?

If you still havent gotten a build week, Id say its safe to assume that it will be a MY16.

Given the date when you placed the order and the time scale you've been given for delivery, it looks pretty certain that you'll get the new model year.

Glad to hear someone else say that and i'm not just being overly hopeful !

I've emailed the dealer anyway to see if he can shed any light on a build week yet, and if he has any clue whatsoever on what the changes might be to my order. Here's hoping it's a bigger screen on the sat nav, only reason I could even have been remotely tempted to go for the Columbus.

Its such a painful wait :(

Who is the dealer, if they dont get back to you skoda customer service can find out the build date for you

Its the Skoda dealer at Phoenix... it's not that they arent getting back to me, I dont think Skoda have given them a date yet...

Does the Amundsen get a bigger screen? I thought it was just the resolution that gets increased?

Ahh its Arnold Clark, skoda customer service would be your best bet in finding out the date, it takes the dealer 5 minutes to find out by checking out the order on his computer

No idea... a different screen is all I know about :S

Yeah, certainly is... I'm giving the guy the benefit of the doubt that he genuinely doesnt have a build date yet as he has been coming back to me regularly to say so... he went through quite a bit of pain when I was ordering to get the price down ( ended up the best part of £60 a month cheaper after some to and fro ! ) so I'd guess that if he could get a date, he'd give me it to keep me off his case :)

Lol I got mine from Henrys skoda in Glasgow Arnold Clark talked themselves out of me considering them for a new vrs lol

Had the same situation with Parks in Hamilton... got a dealer who was so fat I'd to ask him to move his leg to get the handbrake... despite telling him I wanted a new DSG in White with x, y, and z, he tried to sell me a green manual vrs with 10k on it, and a red vrs without x, y and z that smelled like a well used ashtray

Oh dear not so good, my issue with AC was a salesman trying to BS me when I called him out on it I was asked to leave haha

The order for my VRS TSI DSG was confirmed 28/4 and the car is still showing at Status 10 - no build date yet.

Hopefully it'll arrive late July, but it's not definite. The dealer continues to ignore requests about MY16.

From the new configurator, it doesn't look too much different in spec to MY15.

Yes, it's a bigger screen.

My Octy got serviced yesterday and I had a brand spanking new Fabia to run around in for the day.  It had the MIB2? infotainment and it was a noticeably larger screen than my Amundsen (had same features just no satnav).

As of this week all to be build octavia's are MY2016 -they've started this week with the production- , so ask your dealer if a build week is confirmed or not. If its build already he should be able to tell you. If no builddate known (yet) and/or this week or further it will be a MY16 definitly

And from what i've understood the build doesn't take a week.  It's finished within 26 hours.

Try this - http://www.trackmyskoda.co.uk

Although it seems to be for people who have ordered specifically for the dealers on the site...

If you have a look at the Czech car configurator and look at the spec for the amundsen, it no longer says it has a CD, and lists 'APPLE', with SmartLink being an option ( dont think this was on the configurator when i looked originally ), so appears it has been updated over there...

The UK one, although only showing the 'S' it still gives SmartLink as an option but no optional infotainment just now... I'd be more than happy to lose a CD slot in favour of a nicer screen, i think i've listened to less than a handful of CD's in the three years i've had my current car thanks to USB :)

you woudnt need to loose the cd for a bigger screen, as the cd was/is in the glove box,

I ordered by VRS TDI on April 6th this year, was originally told build week 22 and MY16 (but the dealer would not guarantee). Then a few weeks later i got told it would be week 21. Sure enough i got a voicemail this week to say it was built last week, week 21 and is in transit. I asked for an estimated delivery time to the UK and was told it could be anything between 3 weeks and 8 weeks. Amazed a Skoda dealer cannot be more accurate than that!!

It goes from Czech Republic to Germany by rail then onto a boat to the uk, Its not only skoda on the boat also vw and audi, its down to luck if it makes the boat or goes on the next one. Its difficult to be accurate when there are so many variables to consider

It will go by train to Emden in Germany then on a boat to either Grimsby or sheerness.

There's a app you can get for your phone to track marine vessels. Tells you what ships are due in port and allows you to track them etc. your dealer should be able to give you an idea what ship your car will be on.

Mine was at the dealer in 5 days from coming off the boat in the UK. Quite quick really as my dealer told me it would probably be a couple of weeks
