Fuel Gauge display has disappeared!

Featured Replies

I have a 2013 fabia SE (105), 1197c which I bought second hand last December. I was driving it today and the fuel gauge display completey disappered from the dashboard display. I also noticed the gear indicator (the numbers that come on when it wants you to change up a gear), had also disappeared. I carried on driving home and switched off the ignition. I switched it back on and the display came back. Not sure if it will stay back on yet though as I haven't driven it again yet. Anyone experienced this and any ideas what might be causing it?

cheers

this is a well known issue, my 2007 roomster used to do this if I pushed a certain area on the speedo housing when cleaning it, and like you it would come back when the ignition was turned off and on

some have had to have new instrument clusters, but that tends to be rare

it is very disconcerting though when it occurs, I had it happen a few times on the motorway so not easy to restart the car to clear it

Thanks bluecar1. I'll see how it goes - it is still under warranty so might get it sorted if it carries on.

If its under warranty id call your dealer and report it, if its a known issue they'll have a fix, if its not and they cant replicate it, get a ref from skoda customer services so if it appears again you have a  record, (might be handy for if it happens outside of warranty)

Thanks Raymundo, I'll keep an eye on it and get it sorted before the warranty expires :)
