What the hell's an audience plus? When I ordered my motor the only upgrade available was to audience which was an upgraded Head unit including built in 6 disc cd changer and separate amp with 12 speakers. I think originally the upgraded HU and the amp with extra speakers were separate options but not now. Maybe that's what you mean.

Got my car today with the standard stream HU. I think it's pretty good for a factory fit unit. FM reception can be a bit patchy at times and there is a lack of midrange which many people wouldn't about or even notice.

I am planning to address the midrange issue in the front doors myself though and i'll be using a DAB adapter for radio anyway. FM performance of the Audience is very unlikely to be better although the midrange is covered by the extra speakers.

What I really like is the integration the stream/audience Head units have with the car. They link in with PDC, Maxidot display, steering wheel controls, climate control and your hands free phone kit. They also have an auxilary input for an mp3 player for example.

Stream doesn't play MP3 from cd. You get a boot mounted 6 disc slot changer in the boot and single front loader in the head unit. There are reports from some members that their changer will play mp3's but generally they won't so I wouldn't count on it.

For me, putting mp3's onto cd's is a hastle. In decent quality you can only get about 40 albums over 6 discs. I'll be using the aux input for my mp3 player which gives me access to over 350 albums. You can also get a denison kit which will allow you to control and playback from an Ipod through the head unit if you install a Denison adapter (search ICE section of forum for further info).

In short I don't think the audience is worth the extra money.

1) Exactly the same wheels just an inch bigger

2) Not that I know of' date=' a feature reserved for top flight L+K iirc

3) I thought that was one trim type (Black/Onyx two tone)

4) Stream (basic) Audience (better) Audience Plus (additional speakers in doors [b']and an external amp[/b])

We have a different system over here, a 2005 has 05 on the plate and a 2006 has 06 on the plate.

Ah.Probably also explains why my current vRS feels like it would always be at least 25 mph slower than the claimed top speed of 146 (or was it 147?).

I thought figures were toned down for insurance purposes though eg the 9.3 second sprint for the fabia was found to be more like 8.0 and even in the 7's? (Autocar)

Black with 18"s and Jumbo Box, as this was the spec the dealer had ordered for stock, was told it would be nearer March for any other spec.

Can't wait, it will be my 1st Skoda after driving a Honda Jazz for the past year Subaru Impreza's for previous 8 years.

The main reason is Company car tax less than 1/2 Scoob, and will still do 150 (where legal )

Hope to mod later in year.
