Clutch pedal travel

Featured Replies

I had a Yeti courtesy car today and when I drove my Roomie I was surprised by the amount of travel it took for the clutch to bite. It was almost at the top of travel which usually means that the clutch has worn. This clutch was like it from new so is it normal to have so much travel before it engages and can it be adjusted?

Regards

I found this with 2 Roomsters that I test drove before I bought and both were exactly the same 1.2 greenline and a 1.6 diesel. To be honest I dont notice it in my 1.2tsi.

Might be worth putting your vehicle details in your post or in your signature, easier in your signature as you can forget having to type them out each post :0)

I have a 1.2tsi se also. I have been happy with the clutch since new but the Yeti clutch bit half-way up the travel which I preferred. The Yeti I was loaned was the 4x4 diesel model but I had two gripes with it. The first was that the centre arm rest touched my elbow when I changed gear or applied the handbrake. The second was that the instruments were recessed with the speedo calibrated in 20mph increments (20, 40, 60 etc) This meant that 30mph was hard to fathom as it was not shown in numbers so I had to judge half-way between 20 and 40mph. for a £24k vehicle it was not good enough.

Well it doesnt surprise me about the speedo in the Yeti as Ive seen this before in VW's, annoys the hell out of me with the 50mph road works too. That said will the lcd display not give you mph too, the plain green display on my Roomster will but small digits. Surely if the Yeti has Maxidot it'll be very clear to see mph.

How about trying to meet up with other members in your area? May be a members meet? Pity we are so far away as Id of met up to compare the two clutch pedals.
