2006 Ford Focus WRC

Currently being tested in the Lakes.

Not sure who is driving but Uncle Malcolm and Christain Loriaux have been testing it together with an M-Sport technician.

Looks fairly bland to me.

Is it the same engine as the last one, or is it a Volvo 5 pot now?

No idea what engine is in it - they were keeping things close to their chest when I was last at M-Sport.

I'd love to take a trip there, I seen it on the WRC coverage a number of times, its an impressive set up.

Is it my imagination, or do the WRC regs not limit them to a 4-pot, turbo'd, upto 2 litres? Only reason I think of that is because the Scooby and Evo both use them for the road going versions, so it would make sense that they have use these turbocharged units on the WRC as well?

If you look HERE you'll see trips advertised to M-Sport.

It's worth a visit next time your over here, just don't go on a WRC weekend like one of my mates.

Good point ;)

It was my understanding that Subaru and Mitsub used the 2.0 turbo 4-pot as it had been developed and was obviously reliable under rally conditions.

I'm still a bit puzzled as to why Skoda chose the PD130 for the Fabia vRS. Obviously I'm not complaining, and I think they made the right choice, but maybe it was cheaper to slot that in from the VAG parts bin than anything else? Maybe they saw more of a market for a fun diesel supermini sized vehicle

On a WRC weekend it's very quiet in there and there aren't as many people or cars there.

After Andy mentioned the fact the engines are about
