Chip/Tunning 1.2 TSI

Featured Replies

Anyone done this?

Curious more than anything, seen this on ebay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Skoda-Octavia-VRS-Superb-1-2-1-4-TSI-TFSI-Petrol-power-tuning-chip-box-/251610136765?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item3a952200bd says its easy to remove & untraceable?

I've got the 1.2 TSI 86BHP and would be nice to make it same as the 105BHP version one day, still under warranty etc so dont know if i'd risk it until out of warranty. As far as i'm aware the engines/turbo size are exactly the same anyway so it must be a ECU config that makes the 86BHP version slower anyway? Probably did it to have the lower CO2 emissions.

Cheers,

John

Doesn't sound worth it for an 11bhp increase (if indeed it can deliver any improvement at all).

You could probably achieve close to that just using higher octane fuel.

Was Natalie having her Rapid Sport chipped? I think she was looking at SHARK or REVO. Give her a PM and see how it worked out.

yeah, i've seen on other pages increase to up to 120bhp...

Can't beat a real remap [emoji6]

The standard 1.2 TSi apparently dynos at 116-120. Revo claimed upto 144 the last time I checked.

Hi Chris, have you noticed any difference with 'Super'  I thought I did when I tried it with Tesco 99 Ron, filled it from empty (well 5 miles range!)  and I thought there was an improvement but I'm now I'm not sure and have just had a 20K service which again seems to have made a big difference to the torque !

I was seriously thinking of a Shark Re-map but now the engine does feel stronger I'm happy with it and £399 is a fair bit to find for a re-map.

Cheers.
