Poor AM signal Skoda Octavia Mk2

Featured Replies

Hi I am new to the forum, wondering if anyone can help.

I have a Octavia Mk 2 on a 2010 plate.

I cannot tune into any channels on the cars radio using AM. FM is better.

I have checked the radio setup by holding the setup button for a few seconds.

The display says Ant 1 on Ant 2 on although Ant 1 switches off now and again. Even with both Ant 1&2 on AM still useless.

I have read that you may be able to fit an amplifier to the rear of the radio. I have also read that the amplifier is in the base of the aerial.

Not sure what to do, any advice welcome.

I have the same problem it's the second time

Amplifier in the base of the aerial is the likely cause, last time chief under extended warranty. They seem to last about 4 years in my experience

If your listening to AM you need a SUPERB  ;)  :D

+1 for this; mine went within warranty period too.

Cost is looking like £160

I need my talk sport

If they made a superb with a v6 twin turbo in race blue.....

The 3.6 you mean?

That would be the car I did not know existed :-)
