What did you do to your bike today?

Featured Replies

Nice one mate!

Cake? CHRIS!! CHRIS!!!! WE all really do need a meet now!! :D

filtering traffic even late on? Cant even imagine that tbh. After about 7pm around here you can do what you like with just the odd car to take. The later it gets the quieter it becomes.

Glad you enjoyed it anyway! n how was the Big Mac?

Hahaha, go on the cake.

Mate, it's mental, we go to London at 2am and still filter in the city. The M1 at 9/10/11pm is quite, or at least it seems it because you have 3 lanes to spread everyone out but when you divert them all to a single lane 50mph road it doesnt go well. It was hard work tbh, if I'd know I'd have gone out via west London but we didnt think to check before we left the Ace.

An no Big Mac for me! Still on the diet, I resisted. :D

  • Put the wet weather kit on and went and did my Advanced Test.... and passed

  • You're right, I've just undone one and the lip on the pipe extrudes out of the block so it's pressing against that.

  • Finished! That's 2016 done.

I cant even imagine that. I'll be honest. Sit on a motorway at 11pm from here (you do have to drive 60 mins in any direction to get to a motorway from here though) and you can stretch out. 3 lanes of nothingness really. I've driven/ridden in Manchester in the early hours, but it sounds nothing like you're saying. Maybe thats why Londons a complete stand still in the day then :D

Christ. Thats some will power mate. Really good going. Nice one! I couldn't do that :D

I come up to Manchester for a night a few months back, it was much quieter than I thought it would be at night. London is just crazy anytime during the day, I'd love to drive a bus there for a week just to see what it's like lol.

The diet isnt too bad tbh, lost just over 10lb now, small dent in what I need to loose but getting there slowly. I'd love to treat myself to some nice bike clobber next year if I keep it up.

Manchester is busy for me mate. Where i live, at night on single A-roads, you can just go wherever you want pretty much :D. Come up for a ride on the bike atleast. I'm sure us boys could think of a bit of a tour around between the cakes.

Well done! Rome wasn't built in a day mate. Just gotta keep thinking of the bike bits n im sure thats enough of an incentive? :) I love bike bits haha.

Well now I have my swing arm with the internal bearings together but could not work on it today as I had to strip, repairs some broken wires and rebuild my sons battery trike. :D

Bothered the traction control for the first time in the dry

It's what stops us ham-fisted old BMW riders from hurting ourselves.

So far, anyway

Ham fisted is where the funs at!

Had a play on the T today. Out of nowhere, saw an opertunity to get past 3 cars and went. 3rd gear, front wheel in the air. Gone.

My mate on his 675R Daytona was just left shifting down gears :D.

It should have read "my grandsons" as my 34 and 37 year old sons have passed the stage of battery trike bikes.

Ahaa you never know! ;)

Well a busy morning. Got the wheels back in the street t, cleaned, greased and torqued everything then gave it a top to bottom clean before the wife took it too work.

Then cleaned the xr top to bottom and lubed the chain, looking good again.

Thought while I was on a role I'd clean the car, it's only small so blitzed the inside, wheels and a good wash.

Nice clean fleet now bar the disco which is a bit poorly so getting that sorted this week.

Then I took a leaf out of Chris ' s example and started digging the garden over looking well nice now.

I'm knackered.

I fell over backwards removing a large pyrocantha bush and have twisted my knee on Wednesday and it's not getting better so I'm feeling rather p155ed off at the moment.

I checked and checked again several times that I had the spacers for the swing arm in the right order but I had one small spacer on the wrong side of one half of the swing arm. Sorted that out and put it all together and then realised that it does help to put the belt on for the belt drive. By this time I am getting quite good at getting the swing arm, spacers and bits together quite quickly.

Now off to my granddaughters first birthday party.

Well the swing arm, suspension, wheel and brakes are all back together plus all that area cleaned. Leaving the exhaust until I have fitted the centre stand an serviced the bike.

Picked up a puncture today in the rear tyre. Luckily a chap at work spotted it in the bike shelter.

Got a push into the workshop, straight onto the centre stand and wheel out 5 mins later.

Getting it sorted in the morning.

Meant to add that do not forget to add the new belt drive conversion BEFORE you put the swing arm in all bolted up! doh!!!

Just got back from a late night ride.

Waking up the otherwise deadly silent countryside with a growling vtwin!

Then saw 2 eyes reflecting back at me. Bloody lamb. Never know which way theyre going to go.

Just hope it can be fixed and not have to be replaced.  Fingers crossed Dave.

Out today making the most of the weather as it's meant to rain for the rest of the year from Tuesday apparently :( Did come across an unfortunate sight from another biker though :o

Some poor sods chain lying in middle of road.

Bike did get around today and even booked MOT for the weekend (will be embarrassingly low miles this year on new MOT cert)
