What did you do to your bike today?

Featured Replies

Worked out its been averaging 25-30mpg. Im not tight.. but it seems abit backwards that the T5 fully loaded with tools gets mid 30's and the T cant even manage that :D

Nevermind. Off to meet Mr Wright in the morning for brews, cake and a snout at some bikes. Happy days!

If anyone else is in the Lincolnshire area, come along!

  • You're right, I've just undone one and the lip on the pipe extrudes out of the block so it's pressing against that.

Looks good Ade! Certainly good for the money.

You were taking alot of the lines that i would take on the bendy bits too, so surely we aren't both wrong ;) haha

Yes I'm fingers crossed quite pleased with the Innovv! I don't know why the quality comes out so rubbish on Youtube as it's a lot better off the card, yet the 'proper' youtubers seem to get much better results?

Went out for a ride today to check the bikecam out and do some more practicing. The Innovv worked fine today with the different micro SD card in and recorded the whole trip including a stop at Stratstone Wolverhampton to have a look at the HD's

I spotted the other biker in my mirrors about a mile before and even though I was doing the legal limit it was clear he was determined to get past, so I just let him get on with it. Have a look at his overtake at about 1 minute in  :peek:  The white van coming in the opposite direction had to brake to avoid a head on. One of the most dangerous roads locally and it's easy to see why-there's a Biker cafe about 10 miles further on and it attracts the idiots from miles around and it wasn't even a Sunday morning!

Enjoyed your ride on that video Ade, especially as I know the road very well too. It is a good tester as it tempts you so often to do the wrong thing.

The overtaking biker is a good example of why it's so dangerous to "engage" with other motorcyclists.

(My fs 365 bottles arrived yesterday. Thanks for the advice)

Haaaaaa. KB resurfaces!

Cheers Kev, yep it's a challenging road made worse by the fact the council have put double whites along a lot of the route which makes people take more chances in the limited places there are to overtake now. As you know that spot is one of the best overtaking chances on a bike and it was clear after the SUV went past by but the biker's observation was poor as he waited for ages before starting his overtake. It doesn't show up too well on the vid but there was a clean space for him to rejoin between the 2 cars  and that was what I thought he was going to do but he then accelerated into a closing gap to take the 2nd car and I thought OMG here we go. Fair play to the white van man as he braked and moved over to the left to give the biker as much room as he could. I gave him a wave to show some appreciation for what he'd done just so he didn't think we're all the same. I was out round your neck of the woods yesterday, going through Tenbury, but carrying straight on at the top of the main street towards Martley, then left into Worcester before going through Worcester to practice some city riding before returning home up the A449. The camera van was doing brisk business on the southbound carriageway by the petrol station north of Ombersley catching the impatient ones overtaking in the 50 limit which made me laugh.......

Let me know how you get on with the FS365.... is the BM run in yet?

Nothing done to mine, spent a good 2 hours on my dads Bandit though. He's been going on about the wheels looking a bit rough, I can only assume he hasn't cleaned it in his entire ownership because the wheels were the least of his worries. First time I've had to use a flat head screwdriver to scrape the thick layer of crud off the swing arm on a bike. Got it looking a fair bit better, cleaned a lot of stuff you'd not normally look closely at, gave it a shampoo, lightly polished the exhaust and lubed the chain. Brakes need bleeding next, since he's off on his Vespa at the moment I have plenty of time to tidy it up a bit.

He's talking about selling it if he likes the Vespa but for the sake of £1000 I think he might as well keep it. :D She's a bit old now but still runs lovely and it's great to ride, very smooth power curve.

It scrubs up ok for an old girl. Another couple of hours and it'd look quite tidy I think, it was just in such a state to start it took me ages to get anywhere.

Whats going on with the Tuono?! I thought you were smitten with it?

Thats it mate, it takes a fair while when it hasnt been kept ontop of doesn't it.

I am! I love it to bits but i've decided it's a little too impractical for me. Sometimes i do actually want to go somewhere and the T really isn't any good at touring. So i've got a test ride on a Triumph Tiger 1050 Sport on saturday morning.

Ohhh ok. You fancy a bit of longer distance riding then? I thought you got rid of the VFR because you wanted something more 'fun' :D The bike looks immaculate in the pictures, hopefully you have an easy sale and it'll go to a good home.

Yeah. Well, i used to do abit of that on the VFR and it was 'okay' at it. On the Tuono im filling up that bloody (90 miles to the light, but realistically im looking for petrol stations at 80 and it feels like i've just got on it :D) often i cba going any where and i cant get any luggage on it anyway. Literally carry what i have in my pockets :D

I need a half way house. I'm hoping the Tigers 1050 triple gives me enough of a thrill tbh. I'd love an S1000XR like Madrunners tbh, but they're too much money for me at the moment.

So far Tuesday and Thursday we're eating at the royal as everyone is travelling up on the Tuesday and Thursday's the last night but plan to go out on the Wednesday. so far nothing's been fixed but there's talk of a curry being on the cards. Do you know roughly how much the taxis are from Buxton to the RO?

You should come along, though the average age is somewhere close to retirement....so you could end up fixing a few leaks if they find out you're a plummer  :D

Sounds lovely! I don't know off the top of my head but it wont be cheap. I've just sent a mate of mine a facebook message to ask him, as he's a taxi driver. So i'll let you know what he says :)

If im about i might just pop out to say hello over a beer! Would be nice to put a face to the name Ade! :)

Taxi would be much cheaper than i thought actually! He reckons roughly £17.

Cheers Ollie that's what google says it'll cost, so in round numbers a fiver each for 4. Come along and tell them you've test ridden a  sport and they'll make a big fuss of you. I'll be easy to spot....the little bloke in among a load of aging bikers with Triumph T shirts on :D

A fiver between four and enough left to share a pint between 4 of you too :D :D.

ahaha. I just might do! Would be good! If you end up in a place called 'level 2' you've drank too much and you need to go back :D :D

Well I have put the Daytona up for sale as well.  Must have had a good day riding together me and Oli if we put the bikes up for sale the next day!

Wonder if I could get across on one of the days Ade.

I'm sure you'd be welcome Chris. There's another TEX going from near me so we're travelling up together. We arrive Tuesday afternoon so not much riding will be done after that then looks like we'll be doing some ride outs on the Wednesday and Thursday though I'm not directly involved in that and am just going with the flow, but there's mention of cafe's and cat and fiddle plus Bakewell tart which would be right up your street :D
