Needs a new battery?

No, its not opening when button pushed. Opening doors not the problem.

Normally means the little locator screw on the key metal is catching on the plastic body.

Our Seat key has done this once or twice in 2 years or so.

Managed to free it by flexing the key a little - then re-seated the small screw once opened.

I don't have the key with me today - else I would have posted a picture to indicate.

Whoops - misunderstood!

Hi samuir 1974,

Thanks for reply, did you mean for me to open up the fob?

Is there the same issue if you use the second key?

Do you have the second key, and have you just got the car or had it a while and this is a new issue?

Does the button still depress and spring-back?

I have the Seat Exeo with me today - so took a picture of the offending issue with our key.

The little screw/pin highlighted in red circle was catching inside plastic and would not release.

Hope this helps....

....that's how I read it - and knowing I'd suffered this issue; but still to be confirmed by OP.

this is the solution to the OP's question.

The superb key looks a little different but its the same problem.

You need to have the key half open to see the pin and then position that pin on an anvilesque object and hammer it back in.

A brick would do, or a vice.

Well done samuir
