replacement aircon condenser radiator.

Featured Replies

Hi, I have a 2010 Octavia 1.6 tdi dsg7 Hatchback. and I am having difficulty locating an aircon condenser radiator. The part no on old unit is 1KO 820 411S but can not find a supplier with a part that cross references to this no. Can any one help please.

Welcome to the forum.

Have you spoken to any of the suppliers you have been looking at,

it is a common part on VW, Seat & Skoda and they should be able to supply?

Will check the part number on my old one I just taken out and get back to you.

Mine is a denso 1k0 820 411E. I know the last letter is different but I would think they are the same unit, just an updated number.

I've just changed mine over the weekend and had the same part number as meta55b. However he replacement I got from TPS now ends 'AK'.

Typing in the op part number on eBay, it keeps on coming back to the same listings as my car Nissens 94684. I would speak to who ever you order from first.

Thanks everyone ive ordered one from Coolparts UK and should be here early next week. Will let you know if the S has any relevance to the fit. They assure me it is the correct part.

The condenser is the same unit for all engine types.  It's probably the same as the equivalent Golf or Audi too.

Factory # is 1K0820411Q but there will be aftermarket suppliers with their own partno.

:sun:  :sun:  :sun: Phew, just in time, Lol.

Consider a bit of mesh behind the lower grill to protect the new condenser from stone damage (held on with cable ties). I used item 290840516115 on ebay for that, and probably overkill but I also added some 6mm wire mesh attached to the bodywork in front of condenser itself.

My cheapy method using "things that might come in handy one day" that were in the shed.

Just a follow up to all this, I've got to replace mine now and been quoted all sorts of different makes. Mike says Hella ones are the OEM as came with car if I'm reading right, but have also been quoted to fit Nissens, Modine, EIS, Denso, etc.

WIth voucher codes and stuff like that, both GSF & ECP are doing the Hella one for £85 so more than likely gonna plump for that, but for mine and others benefits are any of these makes to be avoided or conversely any I should be going for as the ideal? Just don't know these days which makes are OEM or not!

I replaced mine with a Hella one from ECP, last year, as I wouldn't pay £350 for one from a dealer, cos you cant get the ones with the plastic nut any more, all I wanted was the drier pack, went thought 5 different changes in part number.

Yup, the guy who fitted mine used a hella and it's sealed, so no white plug nonsense. He said he always fits them as he never has any subsequent problems and they're stand fit from a Golf MkV. No worries.

Good to see you got it sorted, did you change the rad too?

Nah, left that for another time. Figured I'm not sure there's an issue with it yet but it's removable from inside the bay so thought I'd simply wait. Honestly, I wanted to make sure the aircon side was all okay once changed so that in case there was a problem there I wouldn't have something else potentially with the cooling side at the same time, that would have done my head in! :)

Fair comment, just wondered if you did do the rad too that's all.
