national meet on Sunday- who's coming?

Featured Replies

Who from the mk2 contingent is coming on Sunday for the national meet up?

Would be nice to see some faces from Santa pod again!

Would love to tbh, but i was in a dilemma with it. Although i like driving the car, its not gonna be much fun on a drag strip. I dont need a drag strip tbh, its only 70bhp lol

And i didnt wanna look a **** turning up on the bike

So im going to PW Pro's annual meet instead (:

I'll be there... :-)

Was thinking earlier about taking the M135i, quite tempted but we are bringing the little 'un with us this time so prob need the boot space for all his stuff. Once you put the buggy in the Beemer boot there isn't a lot of room for luggage lol.

P.s no drag strip at this meet, just the Rockingham track day :-)

Cheers mate! Might just take you up on that :-). I'm doing the taster session in mine too which should be good. Can't wait!

Nah you wouldn't look like a nob! Nobody would care what you turn up on/in.

Worth coming along for the chat and banter :-)

Will definitely be my sons first car meet, the first of many lol!!

Would abit though. Launching the bike with roughly 500bhp/ton at a car meet with about hmm guessing 200bhp/ton? And theres no point taking my fab cos itd be horrendous. Its not built for speed haha.

The next one tom, if youre going, ill come say ello (:

Yes mate defo come to the next one!

I don't think you can run bikes against cars when we were at Santa Pod anyhoo. The bikes all ran separate and most of them were uber-modified drag strip specials.....

Any idea what sort of 1/4mile time your bike us capable of? :-)

will be nice to see you Andy ;)

I shall be there also

Wifey and son too

Oh and gonna santa pod Saturday as well. :)

I'll be there but with my brother in his new Octavia VRS so not parked with the Fabia's

Ah thatd be fun then. Id be the one getting embarrised. I dont mind that haha.

Off the top of my head, 11 seconds i think. Although im sure itd take a few practice runs to get that, for me atleast aha.

Excellent, see you all there. I'm bringing my other Skoda too...the bicycle, wonder if they'll let me do a few Laps haha. Wish id got myself sorted for a taster session though :(

I will be there with my MkII VRS as well, travelling up the A14 on the day. Thinking of putting mine on show as the last 2 nationals have not had that many MkII's on show. Hope to ask you about your H&R RARB too as I am thinking of adding one to my motor.

i would of loved to of gone but i don't have many miles left for my consumption test (they said they would charge me if i went over the prescribed mileage)  and its booked for saturday :(

That is a real shame.

They are talking 'sh!te'. Taking the Pith.

Charge them any expenses.  Charge them for a hire car for being stupid.

If the car does what ever miles during the test, that is how much oil it used.

Miles covered, oil used, too much oil, then they know the result.

do 620 miles and used 0.5 litres,  too much, used 0.3 litres, still too much.

do 1,241 miles, uses 1 litre, too much. uses 0.6 litres too much.

Testing over 300 miles is them trying to fix the result.

Or even worse 300 km / 186 miles, not getting any type of accuracy at such a low mileage.

This is quite unforgivable, what is the name of this garage? Is it a Skoda approved dealership?

The only possible explanation is that they know perfectly well that your car is going to fail the test and are trying to have an excuse ready for invalidating the test.

Shameful :swear:

Pfft.

Theyre gonna try to charge you for driving your own car?

Tell em good luck.

I'm currently on 310miles for 180 requirement from skoda garage for oil consumption test. They have said nothing about charging if go over. Its booked in tuesday for re-weighing. Only reason they wouldn't want you to go over is because the more miles you do the more accurate a result you are going to get

I did 1200km during my test. Fortunately, the local Skoda guys were able to do the maths.
