Adding Aux to Stream MP3

Featured Replies

Sorry if this has been answered before but cant seem to find the answer!

I have upgraded my stereo from a Stream to a Stream MP3 and was wondering how do I add aux to it. Can i get the aux socket from skoda which connects to the back of the stereo? Also once its connected what button do I click on the stereo for the aux to work.

Ive attached a picture of the aux socket im talking about. Does it just connect to the connector block on the back of the stereo?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank You

Not sure about where it connects to, but to get the stereo into aux mode you need to press the CD button a couple of times. Once will probably take you to CD, another might take you to your CD changer if you have one and another press will take you to AUX (not sure if it's in that order). It cycles around when you press it.

Aux needs to be turned on in the menu for it to appear too.

I don't know if the one you posted works, I do know my car came with a working one installed by the previous owner and he had spliced it into the existing loom. Looking at the pinout, the aux appears to be part of the quadlock connector and not a separate plug

The one I posted is a genuine skoda part which are in the the 57reg and over Octavias from what I have noticed. In the arm rest. If that wont fit the older versions what aux connecter will work?

And to turn it on in the menu is it just a case of going threw the settings of the stereo and enabling?

Thanks

I figured that bit out! Thanks. Now I just need the correct cable!

That part will be fine.

You might want to have a look at this thread.

The ebay link is dead but the Skodateile link is still valid.

Not sure you'll get it from Skoda as a whole kit.

I rang them the other day and they said they did.

Also found it on ebay myself listed for VW but connector looks the same so dont see why it wont work

Reckon that would be fine also. Its only an earth and two speaker channels, nothing would be model specific apart from perhaps length but that looks just long enough to get to the jumbo box.

Brilliant. Also whats the easiest way to get the wiring to the centre arm rest? Would I need to loosen up the centre console?

Thanks

Purchased it off ebay. Was fairly easy to fit. Apart from the filling! The ebay advert only started it would fit vw steroes but its worked with the skoda :) Seems to be a genuine VW part as its got the vw logo & part number on it. Ive attached a pic of it fitted to my car.
