My brothers a idiot part 4? 5? Loosing count

Featured Replies

Rant alert, thought I'd stick this on in here as it's bike related.

Yes yes, he's at it again. I'm sure some of you will have read my previous posts on how stupid my brother is, another little rant/update :D

Start of the year he decides he want to be a barber. Manages to blag himself a trainee position and seems to really enjoy it. Everyone encourages him, he's 24 and never worked more than a few weeks at a time so we do all we can to get him to stick at something. After 2 weeks he gets himself a nice 2011 CB1000R the same as mine on finance, bearing in mind he was taking home about £150 a week after repayments, insurance, fuel etc he was left with nothing more or less. He was living with his girlfriend.

Scoot forwards 4 months, he's back home, split up with the girl. Mum tells him he needs to pay her rent (I live in my own gaff so she needs him to help if he's going to stay there). He has a couple of jobs at various barbers for a few days at a time then settles at one. £250 a week until he's confident enough to rent a chair, close to home and decent place. He seemed happy and I THOUGHT he'd finally made the connection between working and having nice things. 2 weeks later I speak to him, no longer at the same place, very vague about where he was working, then a couple of days later he rings me, he's bike has been repossessed after he failed to pay for the past 2 months :D Shock horror. I'm not sure how pleased the finance company were, given a week before he had it taken off him he dropped it and mullered what was a very clean bike. It gets better......

.....a few days later he rings me up, his new bird is guaranteeing his loan for £2000 to buy himself another bike. I dont know where the **** he finds these girls. He asks me to find him a bike, bearing in mind he is earning very little I suggested a cheap bandit/fazer to keep running costs down. No, he wanted a GSXR600 K1/2, I look and tell him they're too much money. 2 Hours later he rings me back, he's found 3, I check and all 3 are write offs. He gets the arse. I then found him one for £2200, looked ok in the pictures and was at a dealer, granted one I'd never heard off but local. I told him to go and look at it, I couldnt go with him so said to ask what history it has blah blah blah. £2200 is still bottom money for these.

Rings me the next day, bought it! Really nice bike he says, so got him to bring it round. F.....M.....L.

Cracked nose fairing, horrid blue screen, red levers on a blue bike, scuffs on sides, chain as loose as Katie Prices minge, what looks like fairly fresh fluids escaping from places. What history has it got? Oh got some old service receipts etc, last one was in 2003 so only 12 years missing. Took it for a spin, rode reasonable but I didnt fancy opening it up too much tbh.

He got all touchy when I said he needs to keep an eye on the oil and dont expect it to last too long, trying to tell me it's a good looked after bike etc. I just walked off rather than argue, what a total ****.

Sweepstake on how long before it goes bang?

Wow. You can choose your friends, but not your family eh?! :D

I'll start the sweepstake with what might be a hopelessly optimistic 2 weeks

When is it due to fail it's MOT, of did selling dealer give one with it?

I give if a month.

Im optimistic ;).

Sometimes one despairs..................................you are not alone, believe me.

Heh, what a tit!

MOT is fresh this week.

He was lucky with his old 600, that was low miles and looked after until he got it so he got away with the near 15k he done on it without any maintenance. I think he's going to run into problems with this on though, 25k on it I think, which isnt a huge amount but if it's not had much love and plenty of abuse he'll soon tip it over the edge.

One good thing though, I've always liked this shape Gixxr, felt a nice size for me, sporty but not too cramped, deffo on my consider list for later in my riding career.

it'll probably be fine to be honest, bikes are robust. At that price he's not going to get a minter, and from the sounds of it a minter would be wasted on him.

Your brother sounds like a nightmare but sounds like a lad so he's alright in my books lol

Hopefully he'll not be doing 130 when something lets go or it ****es oil onto the back wheel.

Has he thought about the army?

Knocked the sense into a few of my mates, admittedly they were younger.

Maybe my mates have just been unlucky but between them a CBR600RR with 30k and FSH snapped it's cam chain and 2x R6's gave up, both with the same kinda miles. Time will tell, I'm quite dubious of 600cc sports bikes with no history. The bit about a minter being wasted on him is a good point actually, good way to look at it, after seeing him ruin 2 lovely bikes it'll be less sad to see him ruin this.

He is a 100% lad, as much as he's a **** and he causes trouble he does make me crack up the rest of the time. He's just put a video on facebook of him being chased round Sainsburys car park by the security guard after he 'nicked' (took for a laugh) a mobility shopping scooter :D Wearing his crash helmet for safety obviously.

Strangely that he's latest thing, going to join the army, I doubt it'll last though or that he'll go through with it.

Or lock up the back wheel...

Me and my mates have given a lot of 600's **** over the years and never had an engine go bang. It would probably be worth checking valve clearances and making sure there is nothing dangerous wrong with it.

Just let him enjoy it, happy in the knowledge he's not destroying a bike someone once took great pride in.

Yeah, MBAI Part 45 sounds about right. ;)

Will watch the papers for a scooter rider arrested for popping a wheelie whilst lugging 20Kg of mozzarella and pepperoni pizza

Do they do that "there in 30 minutes or it's free" service? ;)

I was actually joking; I live about 200 miles from the nearest branch.

Oh i see. I didnt know that bit haha.

Even so, if you let matts brother ditch the moped and give him a GSXR. It might be possible for him lol.

If the story he told me last week is anything to go by, your eta should be about 1hr 20min :D

By the sound of it, he'll probably visit 2 grotty villages, Pain and Suffering on the way up there.

I had my first Papa John's pizzas while on a little holiday in Cornwall a few weeks ago, and rather delicious they were too :)

No offence, but your brother does indeed sound like a bit of an idiot, lol.
