Superb III Estate Reviews

Featured Replies

Lots of Superb III Estate reviews now appearing. Seems the consensus is very favourable, some even preferring it over the hatchback. Post any other reviews you find, it would be nice to get an english speaking video review.

Only English is right at the end..!

Still, nice scenery.

Here's another video review of the Superb Estate L&K (in English). Don't think it was posted before. Again it's a fairly detailed review

Interesting comment (in the video in my post #4 above) about the electric tailgate.  There is nothing to stop the tailgate from closing automatically should a child for example, get on the way.  Definitely a safety issue although I'm sure its the same in other cars too.  The foot operated boot release seems like a disaster and obviously not perfected yet!

He does mention something about the ignition being on (or something like that) and that it might be making the difference to the operation of the virtual pedal. One thing is for sure, while I would like to have the virtual pedal, I will make sure that I'm satisfied that it does indeed work properly in the showrooms before ticking that box.

I think that system can be not properly operating in that particular unit, because the system seems to be exactly the same I have in my current Superb II combi (same button, same features, same actions) and it does stop when you put any obstacle in the middle of its way, no matter if the tailgate is opening or closing.

And about the virtual pedal, IMHO it is only a feature for showing it to your friends, just that. My current car doesn't have it and I don't miss it at all.

A bit like park assist then :)

Just that. Park assist is standard in my car, and I have only used it a couple of times... both for showing it to friends (guilty pleasure :D )

Park assist is useful.... well the extra sensors are when you park it yourself anyway!!  :D

A lengthy review from Ausfahrt.tv in German. Apparently there should be an English version review from them next week :)

What colour is that? Is it petrol blue with L&K cream leather?

If so my mind is made up on colours.

Colour is Petrol Blue, interior colour is Beige, trim level is L&K.

Nicest colour combo IMO !

The tablet holder on the headrest that can also plug into the centre rear armrest. Is that standard on any of the range? Or is it an optional extra?

Another journalist who seems to have problems with the "virtual pedal" feature. When he tries to open the boot with his foot, he reminds me of a spanish humorist, Chiquito de la Calzada:

I believe it may be an optional extra as that is the case in Germany where it's listed in their Accessories Brochure for €24.95.

Tablet-Halter für Kopfstütze oder Mittelarmlehne der Rücksitzbank

3V0 061 129

24,95 €

Don't know if it's supplied as part of the Media Command optional extra in the UK as it's not listed as an item in the brochure.

Then again, the German accessories list loads more things not listed in the UK brochure (cool box, espresso machine, sports pedals, etc, etc).

I like almost everything about it. I like the fact it text's the 112 European emergency services if your involved in an accident and gives your gps coordinates. The one thing I don't like is the electronic handbrake.

The Auto Express review of the estate.  The 150bhp L&K.  A pretty positive review overall
