Columbus Bluetooth disconnecting from iPhone 6

Featured Replies

I've had both working for s long time over Bluetooth without any issue.

Around 2 months ago I updated to the beasts Bluetooth software from the skids website, ever since the phone keeps getting disconnected while playing audio CONSTANTLY

anyone else have any issues or can advise on a fix

I've tried doing a factory setting reset, but just seems to wipe my settings, not do a full factory reset.

Ive tried reinstalling the Bluetooth but still not working. Ive had to resort to buying an audio cable

Reset the iPhone and the Bluetooth settings on the HU then repair.

Done that I think

Done a FULL RESTORE on the iPhone, and factory settings rest in head unit, which seemed to take about 2 secs

And what do you mean repair

Sorry re-pair the phone to the HU :)

Are you sure it isn't an iphone issue after an iOS upgrade or anything like that?

I have the same BT firmware with a couple of Android devices and they are fine, no issues at all.

Can you try a different iPhone on a previous iOS to rule that out?

No I don't think it's a phone issue, it wasn't after an iOS update that it stopped, I've already done a full phone restore

And the Bluetooth on the phone works fine with everything else.

It just constantly connects and disconnects on the car system now.

I've had to turn off the music connection

I have the same issue. My dealer just told me that they will receive a cd in about two weeks from Skoda with FW update that hopefully will fix the BT issue and the navigation lockup when recalculate a rout.

I'm on vacation now so we will install the update in about four weeks. Will let you know if it helped with the BT issue after I have done the update.

I'm waiting on an my16 vrs but I'm getting the same thing on my current parrot system iOS updates always seem to break something

I have had the BT issue since I got my car in April this year, so it's not iOS 8.4 that's causing it.

I use a lot of other BT devices and no other device has this issue.

Have you got an Apple Watch by any chance?

I have noticed this but only since I got my Apple Watch.

I do now but I had had the issue even before I got my AW.

Perhaps the iOS update that accompanied the Apple Watch launch had some tweaks to the bluetooth. I have really look to see if this weeks 8.4 update has caused any changes to this, I keep an eye on it.

Was it 8.3 that came with AW support? Will have a look at some of my older iPhones and see if 8.2 is ok, if they still are on 8.2. I don't got an iPhone 6 with 8.2 though...

Yes I do have an Apple watch,it would have been around that time, and I was thinking that may be it,but dismissed that idea

Yeah, I'm sure 8.3 was for Apple Watch and then 8.4 last week for Apple Music.

Hi all. Im new to this forum. Im having the exact same issue its really irritating. I've called my dealer workshop on a number of occasions and they have no idea of an update? is there any progress with yours?

Mine used to do this disconnecting but there was a Bluetooth update on the skoda update page http://updateportal.skoda-auto.com/ when I put my VIN in and it seemed to resolve these issues.

I applied that update about two month ago and I still have the issue.

Hi Guys,

any update in regards to this issue with the skodas (Octavia). Im really struggling to find a solution. Is it the phone or the car ?

A little late to the party... but I have also had bluetooth problems with my Columbus and iPhone 6.

For me the problem occurs when I have an app open which uses bluetooth (it doesn't have to be the foreground app). In my case its the Tile app which uses bluetooth to communicate with the Tiles (I always lose my keys).

As soon as I close the app, the phone's connection to the Columbus appears to be much more reliable.

Hopefully this helps.
