Pipe to rear washer jet?

Featured Replies

I have 2008 Roomster 1.4, there is no water to the rear washer jet, the pump in the reservoir at the front of the car can be heard running, there are no obvious signs of fluid leaking, I cannot find a pipe to the jet, I assume that a pipe should come into the tailgate with the wiring harness through the flexible rubber sheath at the top right side of the tailgate?

Not exactly sure how the pipe is routed but check in your spare wheel well.  Likely to be loads of water in there.  Better to get it out now rather than later.

Hi JDA1 and welcome to Briskoda.

Yours is a known problem on Roomsters,  The pipe usually fractures at the point where it passes through the rubber sheath at the top of the tailgate.  The fracture is often caused by opening the tailgate when the washer fluid within the pipe is frozen.  There is some useful information in the following thread:

Thanks for the replies, there is no water on the carpet or around the spare wheel, I am unable to find a black plastic pipe. In case that I am missing something! where does the pipe connect to the rear wiper motor? The parts list shows one washer pump with 2 outlets, could I disconnect the pipe @ the pump that goes to the rear, to dump fluid rather having a flood inside somewhere?
