Questions about Superb Estate

Featured Replies

By the looks of it I am not the only that has just got a "new" Superb. I have picked up ours yesterday - a 2014 L&K model.

The questions that I have are - and I have read through the manual..... :

1. Can I deactivate the advice in the Maxi DOT when I switch off the car? It tells me to be safe.

2. Park distance control - the back comes on together with a display of the car surround when I choose reverse. The front beeper seems very quite when I approach anything close in front. Has someone before me switched it off?

3. Can I deactivate the Km/h in the Maxi DOT?

4. I have boot rails and flexible loading. In the manual a variable loading with a higher boot floor is described. Can I lift the rail floor upas well?

5. Rear Bumper. It looks very nice still in painted finish, but how long for? I have had a V70 where Volvo put a bumper protection on top. Can I get a bumper protection stick on?

6. Sat Nav on Columbus - Where can I activate the speed camera warning?

Hi Gazdoc,

Congratulations on the new car! AFAIK (although my knowledge is based on a 2010 car...):

1. Yes, I believe you can adjust this under settings on the MFD

2. I don't have the front sensors sadly but you should be able to adjust the volume under the MFD settings I think

3. Deactivate? No, but change to miles (again, under setup)

4. I have the false floor and a kit is available from Skoda that allows you to do this.

5. Absolutely - several different types available from http://www.superskoda.com/skoda/superb-ii/exterior

6. It will only be as good as your latest update but you can toggle this on and off under navigation settings within the navigation setup (push the navigation button on the Columbus and go from there....)

Have fun fiddling :)

Thank you Dave.

I can only help you on these ones i'm afraid.....

2. Front and rear parking sensor volume level and tone can be adjusted independantly via your maxidot dash display. Select SETUP > ASSISTANTS > PDC Then you'll see the options for the volume and frequency for front and rear sensors.

3. The only way you can stop the kmh display is by having the Australian large MPH display option enabled via VCDS. Once done one of the MFD displays is a large MPH display and even when not selected the maxidot no longer displays the kph readout. Its quick to restore it back if driving abroad by just deselecting the large speedo display (Described as "alt speed display") in the maxidot MFD options.

6. There is no way the Columbus can give an audible speed camera warning or any POI warning as is. I use a work around that i discovered but it means using a third party speed camera database and seperate app on your iPhone or Android phone and using the bluetooth connection from the phone to hear the audible warnings given by the app on the phone.
