Heads up

Featured Replies

I put a post up recently concerning a misfire on cylinder three on my 1.4 16v Fabia that has only covered 45,600 on a 05 plate with history.

Turns out that the misfire had nothing to do with the management system (not the obvious) but the brake vacuum pipes which were very badly split, in fact so badly split, that l would raise a concern as l have never seen pipes in such poor condition on any other vehicles l have owned over the years, repaired or broken up for parts.

So if you are getting a misfire problem, make it your first port of call to check the brake vacuum pipes, especially where it plugs into the housing under the throttle body as this is the closest heat source that can cause the plastic brake servo pipe to become brittle and then crack, this in turn causes loss of throttle pressure that can cause the misfire.

Hope this helps.
